i hope it is. it’s my favorite book reader.
i wish it had the “save style,” like how it looks, that yomu did. because it’s hard to correctly transfer a styling change that one makes from one book to another.
another thing i wish it had is a few more fonts, but if not, that’s all right.
one thing that i’d love is changing how scrolling is tracked in scroll mode while TTS is on, or being able to press and hold a word and the bar pops up and having an option for TTS to start there instead of the first paragraph the page is at when turning on tts mode.

Really good reading app but has a minor issue
Loving the app so far, but it just has one issue I’m facing. Sometimes swiping right would end up skipping past the entire chapter instead of a single page. Then I have to go back to where I left off manually.
Could we have more fonts as well ? Thank you!

Translation not functioning
I use Cantook to borrow and read books in french. Lately, I have been having issues with the Reverso translation apo not functioning. Anyone else?
Ne fonctionne pas avec les livres achetés
C’est dommage ajouter les livres achetés format epub/drm ne fonctionne pas du tout. J’ai cherché à comprendre mais j’ai rien trouvé.
Fantastic calibre integration
I use this as a daily driver for mobi and epub format, as well as the odd pdf.
I am able to access a catalog of books hosted on a calibre-web docker container, downloads are simple and flawless from within the app.
It loses a star for not being able to lock orientation in spite of the host OS. When this app rotates it sometimes skips ahead pages and pages.
Also the font size and justification settings could use some tweaking. I’d like to choose a stable pixel size or number rather than toggle larger and smaller again and again. Could we also play with margin size?
Would I recommend? Absolutely. It does the job and I’d gift this to family who enjoy carrying a library in their pocket.

This is great!
Amazing reading app, only suggested features would be custom order in collections and selecting specific books for widgets. Best pdf reading app I’ve used so far tho :D
Application compliquée
J’ai acheté un livre en ligne dans un cadre scolaire et il fallait absolument utiliser cette application. Sur mon téléphone ça fonctionne mais mal, ce n’est pas fluide, pas d’option de dicter le livre. Sur mon Mac j’ai tout essayé mais rien ne fonctionne.

Terms and Privacy
The Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy leads to a blank page. The Developer’s Privacy Policy on this download page is also blank. The website requires the acceptance of cookies before I could read Terms of Use. For me that’s a no.

How do I import my books?
The startup asked to import my books. After selecting one PDF, the import window closed and my book was there. Great, but I can’t find any way to add more of my collection. No, I won’t be emailing support so respond to this review here.

Works well with Internet Archive LCP files
Zero complaints. Does what it's suppose to. Just download a LCP file from the Internet Archive (which is a small data file and not the book itself), from the Files application "share" that downloaded file to Cantook, and after adding the requested passphase (your email address used to login to IA) Cantook dutifully downloads the PDF or EPUB and opens it up. I couldn't ask for more. Being able to so easily read IA LCP PDFs on the iPad is much better than using my MacBook. Credit to the Cantook's UX designer for a clean interface. Highly recommended and thanks Aldiko for making this application.

Doesn’t support komga with SSO
Unfortunately this app is unusable simply because it does not integrate with komga instances that use SSO. I think komga tries to create a pop up for auth and this app can’t handle that
It’s a real shame because every step up until then was smooth and easy, this was looking to be the best ebook app I’d seen so far! If they can fix this, I think maybe I’ve found the app for me. Hopefully it’s a simple fix?

The app is spyware. Not usable in current form.
The app has potential, but it’s not usable due to several fatal flaws:
-Categories function totally broken. Can’t create categories, so no way to organize books.
-Changing font size or color is incredibly clunky due to full screen settings page that obscures the effect of font size changes: you just blindly push + or - buttons umpteen times
-Predatory and unacceptable privacy policy. It tracks what you read, including content, notes, and highlights, and sends it back to the developer. This is a total non-starter and is absolutely unacceptable. Even in countries where the privacy of books you check out from the library is protected by law, this app wants to spy on you.
The developer should respect the absolute privacy of what you read and the notes you take, or get out of the business. This behavior is disgusting.

Feature Request
It is a great reading application and I use it on daily basis. I had one feature request, that Highlight of the selected text in the book should be first option while reading the book.
This would really make it easy to highlight text and add value to the readers.

Bonjour, vous pouvez normalement modifier les polices de caractère et/ou la taille du texte dans les réglages accessible lorsque vous êtes dans un livre. Le mode sombre est aussi accessible dans la même section: le bouton "Aa" affiché en haut de l'écran lorsque vous êtes en mode lecture. Le thème général de l'application peut aussi être changé dans les réglages principaux de l'application. L'équipe Cantook
Notes? Highlighting?
Perhaps I’m missing something, but it’s driving me insane. I was forced to download this app to read an academic text securely. When I’m reading to retain information from an ebook, I NEED to at the very least highlight and bookmark things. Making notes would be better. I can’t even highlight text in this app. It’s awful. So I guess good job providing an app that lets you read? But I need more than that.
