Incorrect and misleading information

Do not trust this app for correct information. It is incorrect and misleading, listing public beaches as open to dogs which is not the case at this time of year.

Response from developer

You're right, and I'm sorry. Thank you for calling this out. The problem was ours: any beach we didn't have a verified local rule for was defaulting to "dog-friendly." That's backwards β€” it's exactly how someone ends up driving to a beach where dogs are banned all summer. That default is fixed. Beaches without a confirmed town rule no longer show as dogs-allowed; in season they now warn you to check the town's rules first. The fix is live on our servers, so it applies without updating the app. On your other point β€” that this was an aggregate with no real local knowledge β€” that was fair too. Dog rules here are set town by town, not beach by beach, and they shift by season and even time of day. We're now building them one town at a time from official town and National Park Service sources instead of inferring them from map data. Until a town is verified, the app says "check locally" rather than showing a checkmark. If you're willing to send us the specific places that were wrong, we'll prioritize those towns. Either way, your review changed how the app works.

Incorrect Information

There are many places listed that do not allow dogs, it says dogs are allowed and that is incorrect. Many of these places do not allow dogs any time of year. This is an aggregate app with no specific local information at all. Do not rely on or support this app.
