About

Auto-caption your videos in seconds, entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is ever uploaded — not your video, not your audio, not to us, not to Apple. Import one clip or several, and Captionry assembles, transcribes, and burns in clean, readable captions — no watermark, no subscription, no paywall. MULTI-CLIP ASSEMBLY Import up to 10 clips at once, reorder them, and trim each one's start and end before they join into a single continuous video. Captions are generated per clip and never straddle a cut. A REAL TIMELINE EDITOR Pro Editor gives you an actual multi-track timeline — split clips, drag captions into place, pinch to resize, scrub the filmstrip — with full undo/redo, not just a single preview screen. DUAL CAPTIONS Add a second, translated caption line in one tap — also entirely on-device, using Apple's built-in translation. Great for reaching a wider audience or for language-learning content, without a translator or a second editing pass. 100% ON-DEVICE Captionry has no server. Your video and its audio never leave your phone — captions and translations are both generated locally, using speech recognition and translation built into iOS. Most of the app works fine with no internet connection at all, including in airplane mode. FEATURES • Import and assemble up to 10 clips into one continuous timeline • On-device transcription in dozens of languages — pick which one your video is actually spoken in • Optional dual/bilingual translated second caption line, styled independently • 8 caption styles, each with its own font, size, color, and background customization • Split, trim, drag, and restyle captions right on the timeline • Edit any line before exporting, including the translated line • Preview right in the app — no extra apps needed to check your captions • Resumes automatically if you close the app mid-edit • Export in seconds, saved straight to Photos Built as a fast, honest alternative to editors that paywall auto-captions, translation, and multi-clip editing behind a subscription. Captionry is free — no ads, no in-app purchases, no watermark, ever. No accounts. No ads. No subscriptions. Just captions, done right.

What's New in Captionry

1.2

September 2, 2026

Captioneer is now Captionry. Same app, same developer, new name - nothing about how it works has changed. This release is also a big update: Captionry is now a real multi-clip editor, not just a single-video caption burner. • Multi-clip assembly: import up to 10 clips, reorder and trim each one, then join them into one continuous video with captions that never straddle a cut • Pro Editor: a real timeline — split, drag, scrub, pinch to resize, full undo/redo • Dual captions: add a translated second line, styled independently, fully on-device • 8 caption styles, each with font/size/color/background customization • Fixed: a transcription error could fail silently with no explanation — now you'll always see what went wrong and can retry • Your session now survives closing the app mid-edit, across multiple clips • Confirmations before any action that would discard your edits (re-translating, re-transcribing, reordering, leaving without exporting)
