Wouldn’t let me log in. Tried to email and got no response.
App crashes all the time and needs to have purchases restored on active subscription.
Love the magazine, but the app is horrible, crashes all the time and can’t even believe it has a restore purchases button because they can’t keep track. Garbage. Please rewrite.
Useless app
I have had a subscription to this magazine for several years. However, after some IOS updates it is now broken. Each time I open the app I have to go to Settings and restore my purchases or it will otherwise charge me for my magazines or lock them. It also tends to show only a white page after a page turn and get stuck. This requires me to close the app and reopen it to continue reading. Very frustrated!

I have to close the app and relaunch every 5 minutes. Tough to read one article without restarting.
Great magazine,garbage app
The app has had the same issue across two different iPads for years so it is the app. Often when you flip pages the new page is blank. You must exit the app and re-enter to restore the missing page.
Today I tried PDF view. It fixes the white page problem but instead adds a scroll bar that blocks the content. Please fix the app or tell me how to get rid of the scroll bar.
I tried sending this to tech support for the app and keep getting an error.

Shoddy app
I have had a digital subscription for years, but every month I’m unable to log into the app. I have to uninstall and reinstall to open it. Great magazine, shoddy app.
Awful and frustrating
This is the worst app. After a few pages, it just freezes. I have to close the app and restart and then be careful to avoid the pages that cause problems. Also sometimes doesn’t recognize that I’m a subscriber.

Horrible Battery life and performance
Since updating to ios18 this specific app is really glitchy, has horrible performance scrolling, has horrible battery life(worse than high end games), and makes my iPad hot when I’m using it

I love this app. It allows me to read C/D issues from all the way back to 2010. But I have an odd issue with it.
It eats my battery like crazy. I don’t understand why. I’m not sure if all magazine apps are like this, but for me, it uses about 0.5-1% of my battery per minute. I have an iPhone 14, and it’s less than a year old. It shouldn’t drain this fast.
The Car and Driver app is really cool, but if you could sort out the battery-life issue, that would be great.

Unusable
Just subscribed digitally but unfortunately did not read recent reviews of the app. The app in iPad format fails miserably at the most basic level – displaying content. There's not much more to elaborate on, but when you see a blank screen rather than the content you're paying for, the app is basically unusable.

Magazine is great. App is terrible. If you don’t download isssues they either don’t work at all or won’t load photos.
Dumpster fire
I chose to subscribe to the digital version of C&D to be environmentally friendly but the app is horrible. Half the time, the content is displayed without any images or CSS formatting, so it's just walls of bizarrely formatted text in Times New Roman. Then there's the problem that the app burns through battery power (and makes my phone uncomfortably hot) even when it's doing basically nothing. And there was a problem a few months ago where the links in the table of contents didn't work, making the app almost completely useless.
I'm going back to the paper version of the magazine the instant my subscription expires. The app is horrible.

Glitchy, battery destroying application
The articles? Gold!
App devours battery (iPhone 14) regardless if phone is in airplane mode or not.
Pages are cumbersome and spontaneously zoom in and out when scrolling.

App will not let you access your purchase. Support will not respond.
App stopped working for the Jan 2024 issue. Still works for back issues. App support refuses to reply or fix the issue. Have been trying to reach them for a week. You will only get a form response with a solution that doesn’t work. Shameful.
