Great Idea, AI failed execution

I love the concept, which is why I downloaded, but it uses recipes that are clearly AI generated and not vetted. Everything that it showed me looked really gross and I am not a picky eater. If they used some sort of algorithm to scrub the Internet for four star recipes and above, I’m sure they would get a better turnout. Not worth the subscription yet.

Kinda works

I got the 1 week trial and it worked well, some glitches but the grocery list went right into my Walmart app and I was impressed. Now after my trial is up and I’ve paid for a year I updated the app and it is even more glitchy and getting the list to transfer into my Walmart list isn’t working at all. Then trying to switch meals has very limited options. I hope this gets fixed

Great Idea, Poor Execution

I used the trial of this app for the week. It’s a great idea, but needs more work. For example, the grocery list it gave me for my meals included “cheddar cheese”, “shredded cheddar”, and “shredded cheddar cheese”— all for different recipes. If the developer is going to advertise that one of the benefits of the app is pulling recipes that reuse ingredients to save money at the register and reduce food waste, they need to work out kinks like this one. The original meal plan it gave me was also 4 meals— two of which were flatbreads and the other two were tacos. I could come up with saving money by repeating meals without the help of an app with a weekly fee.

It also showed me a recipe with rice where the instructions say to add the rice to the slow cooker, but the only liquid in the slow cooker is 6 tbsp of soy sauce and a few tbsp of honey— no broth, no water… there’s just no way that would work. The recipes aren’t thorough enough.

Promising concept, but very new app

Suggest more testing before rolling out updates. Right now the swap dinner button doesn't work at all. Would also suggest including more than just dinners as humans eat more than one meal per day.

Needs more variety

I like the concept for sure but every meal is so repetitive and is only Asian food based. I try to swap out for other meals and that’s the only choices it gives me

A lot of kinks

I selected 3-4 people and it’s only showing me a plan for 2 people. A lot of the recipes don’t include any sides (it will literally just be chicken thighs). To me that’s not very sustainable.
The app is also overall slow/lags

Need improvement

The concept is amazing and ultimately it works BUT….. there is no option to have fish or shellfish as a restriction so I’m getting quite a few recipes that have them in it. There is also a glitch to where if you browse recipes, you can’t scroll on it until you touch the very very edge of the screen which is almost never.

Response from developer

Thank you — this was genuinely useful feedback and we fixed both things you called out. The next update adds Fish and Shellfish as dietary restrictions (every recipe is now filtered for seafood ingredients, including hidden ones like Worcestershire and oyster sauce), and the scrolling glitch on recipe browsing is gone — it was a press animation stealing touch input, now removed on every screen. The update is with Apple now; we'd love to know what you think once it lands. — Jasmine, Carby
