What's New in CarCoding

1.3.16

September 16, 2026

The coding screen now works on many more vehicles: module lists and settings can be read, and editable options are shown. Fault scanning finds modules more reliably — responding modules are no longer missed. Chassis number (VIN) reading was extended on some vehicles. Wait times now adapt automatically on slow adapters.

User reviews

So much potential meh

The app looks great
The app connected and showed vin and coolant
The app did not recognize Chevy GMC etc etc domestic us brands and offered no way to upgrade the app or catalog of vehicles
I’m sure when I get a chance to try on a Japanese car or German car it will be worth having. But without domestic USA cars being recognized most mechanics will not rave hype or promote in reviews. It’s coding plain and simple the database is far from complete. I do like the search and country flag feature just looks like USA is mostly omitted from the app.

Response from developer

Honestly, this review stung a little, but you were right and we needed to hear it. American vehicles were not getting the attention they should have, and that's on us. So we spent the last stretch fixing it properly. Chevy and GMC are in now, along with Chrysler, Dodge, RAM, Cadillac, Buick, Jeep, Lincoln and Ford. That includes the trucks and full-size stuff people actually drive here, like the Silverado, Sierra, F-150, RAM 1500, Tahoe and the Charger and Challenger. We also went back for the older pre-CAN models so the higher-mileage rigs are not left out. While we were at it we widened coverage for the rest of the world too and improved the EV battery and tire-pressure readings. If your Chevy or GMC didn't come up before, give it another shot after this update. And if it's still not perfect, tell us the exact make, model and year right here and we'll get it into the next one. We're a small team and we read every one of these, so a review like yours actually changes what we build. If you feel like the app earned a second look, we'd really appreciate you updating the rating. Either way, thanks for pushing us to do better.
