Dyspnoeic Dilemma

diagnosis case is stuck on dyspnoeic dilemma

Used to be really fun but I think it’s broken

I’m studying engineering but I used to play this game with my friends (majority med students) at school (at least three years ago now) and we all used to enjoy the diagnosis levels the most. However, every time I’ve tried to play the game recently, it’s been stuck on the same diagnosis level, regardless of the level’s title. I’ve even tried making a new account in case my old account’s levels being maxed out was the reason, but still, I am stuck diagnosing Sarcoidosis. Please fix this!! I would definitely start playing again if this was resolved.

Still a top tier app

I love the new updates, CME cases, and more! At first i used this to understand more CCT procedures but now I’m using it to further embed my knowledge of my current CRMS courses! Very great cardiac games, the cases come filled with knowledge, and very interactive! I can’t wait to continue learning so i can start trying the IV cases. 10/10 study material & it’s fun!

Really good but sometimes hard to understand

So I got really invested in learning about this stuff, and the I thought what’s nothing better than to try find an app about it, that’s when I came across this game,no seriously this game is fantastic with amazing graphics and different interesting styles of game play which make it really fun.Though I do have one critique, you see this app is made for aged 12 and up, and being well somewhere in the middle of that age and adult myself there are definitely some some places of the game that younger people may not understand for example,I had to look up what an MRI was because I didn’t understand what it meant,I think rather than focusing on the really life situations the creator needs to take into consideration the target audience with more care because not understanding what the game wants would’ve take away the enjoyment out of the game entirely.Sorry for the review it’s just I’m very opinionated at times, but overall really enjoyable game.

Please stop taking away control

Love the game. Absolutely infuriating that i am forced to click things and it constantly takes away control to highlight things.

Amazing!

Thank you for making this game. So much fun with learning.

Thoroughly Impressed

I love this game for its creative gaming design, and I am critically impressed that this game is free. I love all of the different simulations, but I have a special fondness for the diagnosis scenario, being the simulation I use most. I work as an AEMT, and find CardioEx to be an excellent practice in critical thinking and applying knowledge to real life situations. I find as well that by researching conditions featured in this game, I am more easily able to treat calls that might otherwise seem like nonsense with the gravity they deserve. Best of all, this makes educational tools into games (FOR FREE I MIGHT ADD), so I am able to study in my strongest learning style.

AMAZING GAME

i am a highschooler who is interested in medicine and this app is amazing! This app is better than any other video game put there. All i ask is that level ex makes more levels because i am running out of levels. Over if you are interested in a future in medicine this is a great app to get. also playing this game with an anatomy book helps memorize all of the terms.
p.s. nuero ex? brain surgery? maybe thats the next one????

Absolutely worth the download

The graphics, music and content are mind blowing I absolutely love this game! The educational component are going to help me learn an amazing amount! Thank you!

Great concept, but not yet medically applicable

The idea and platform for this game are great, but it does not simulate what I would do in real life practice. As an example, I would not get a transesophageal echocardiogram as part of routine diagnosis for HFrEF. It would be great if the referenced information for each case can be a bit more detailed as well. For the case on hypertriglyceridemia, we give the patient icosapent ethyl until they are optimized, but nothing in the references even mention the REDUCE-IT trial. If these cases can be more robustly designed, this could be a fantastic learning tool.

Cool

I have very little training in the medical field but during my time in massage therapy school, we learned all about the human anatomy. My favorite section was the heart. This is way more interesting and intense than I thought.

Can be confusing

One of the diagnostic cases is a PE, but the EKG test just says “sinus tachy”, and the xray results just say “cloudy”. But they don’t know you the actual EKG or CXR. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to look at the actual results. 3/5 for stenting a snowflake though.

Great app!

Extremely high quality, can’t believe it is free!

Tutorial

The tutorial is bugged and won’t let me progress after the second step

Awesome, just needs one thing

This app is such a great idea & fun learning tool! The only thing it’s missing is something even the NBME neglects: answer explanations! For example, in the treatment tutorial, you can choose to use statin+fish oil, or statin+icosapent ethyl. i tried the fish oil first but it barely responded, so i tried the icosapent & it helped. the problem there for learning? just trial & error. would be nice if at the end of the case it showed you treatment guidelines(per USPSTF?), so you know what your steps should have been. would also help to have scoring reflect whether you chose the right sequence of interventions. random example: if it was a micro case & i went straight to vancomycin when i should have tried a penicillin first, i shouldn’t win just because the bug died either way. i should at least get less points, or something. same with the diagnosis cases. if i do an echo before i ask for past history... i should be somehow punished. LOL great work otherwise, guys.

OH! Unless I missed it, there’s no way to just hit “diagnose” when i know what it is. i shouldn’t have to keep eliminating if i know the condition. could give extra points for knowing without needing to eliminate to 1, and penalties for choosing the wrong diagnosis.

Excellent! One request

Awesome game. I love it!! Great cases, info, and learning opportunity. The diagnostic cases are my favorite!! I have one request. Would you consider giving ekg results in visible form? I think that would be a excellent and helpful addition. Keep up the good work :)

Not a professional but...

I don’t understand a single word of it but the artwork and animation is beautiful and completely smooth.

Learning Can be Fun!

Cardio Ex is absolutely amazing, I haven’t played the others but I’m sure they’re great as well. I wish there were more game specialties from this developer.

Great app from a Flight Paramedic!

I may not be a cardiac nurse, cardiologist, Cardiothoracic surgeon or Doctor but I do have experience and work as a flight paramedic and deal with many different patients and scenarios across the board! I think it’s a great, informative and educative app that allows learning through trial and error as well as fun. Also provides great explanations and case summaries! I love it!

Causes Overheating

This app is really fun to play and very helpful to those looking for a career in cardiology however after playing for just ten minutes, I noticed my phone was getting overheated. You can’t play this game without your Iphone getting overheated. My speakers are now fried and I’m going to have to get a new phone. Do not play this game.
