About
You land in Buenos Aires, Mexico City or Madrid, and the Spanish you
learned doesn't sound like the Spanish around you.
Carpincho teaches the one you'll actually hear — and it walks you
through it in order.
THE ROUTE
Seventy-five places, one street. A café where you greet, sit down,
order, ask the waiter and pay. A kiosk, a market, a bus stop, a
pharmacy, a phone call. Each stop is one thing you can do afterwards,
and you leave it before it gets long.
No levels. No streaks. No percentage bars. You move along the street
because the next place is where you're going.
THE MOMENT THEY SWITCH TO ENGLISH
Seventy-one of the sentences are the ones coming at you, not the ones
you say. "Para acá o para llevar?" "Se lo caliento?" Most apps teach
you to speak. Almost none teach you to understand the answer.
Eighteen more are for the second you didn't catch it. "Cómo?" "Me lo
repetís?" That's the second where someone switches to English — or
doesn't.
SPEAKING, GRADED HONESTLY
Record a sentence and you get an answer, not a score: understood,
borderline, or not yet — plus the two or three words that were weakest.
A number tells you nothing about whether it would have worked.
THREE KINDS OF SPANISH, ALL EQUAL
Argentina and Uruguay, Latin America in general, or Spain. Every word
and every sentence is spoken in all three, by three different voices.
La palta or el aguacate. Vos podés or tú puedes. You pick, and you can
change it anytime.
WHAT ELSE IS IN IT
Around a thousand words and sentences, chosen for daily life rather
than frequency lists. Dictation at three speeds, for the sentences that
arrive as one blurred block. Conjugation as whole tables, because the
pattern is the thing to learn. Branching scenes where the conversation
goes wrong and you repair it.
No account needed. Nothing to sign up for.
