Great for continual craft practice
Castability is a great tools that keeps you match fit so that when that self-tape audition comes in you are ready to knock it out of the park!

To me the biggest spark of this app is it gives me consistent practice which is really important for this craft. And I’m slowly learning about craft and brand.
Excellent for practice
Castability is a like an acting gym. I try not to focus on the outcome of each challenge (easier said than done!) and instead use each scene like an experiment for something I want to work on. Could be memorization, going with my gut or just pure play and going bigger than I would normally -just to see! It’s especially useful right now as real auditions are non-existent.

Much needed app for actors!
With terrible software like Casting Networks and Actors Access floating around, this app is a breath of fresh air.
Innovative and Exciting!
The data collection and analysis is phenomenal and unique. So worth it if you’re a new actors trying to break in.
Great app for actors
Honestly, this has been a game-changer for me in terms of motivation. I needed help with accountability to practice and knowing if my work was actually competitive. Plus, I have always wanted to know exactly what was going on in castings head and this helps me understand what they look for. I also love how I can keep track of my growth and see if my classes are truly making me better.
I’m pretty sure there are parts of this app that are still in development, but I already love what it has to offer. Highly recommend if you’re looking for accountability and learning!

Worth the effort
Love the original scenes and have even gotten some agent response after sending out my best tapes in a self tape reel. Very worth the hard work, finally feel like I have the information to grow.
Great Data and Accountability
I’m really happy I joined Castability as it keeps me regimented in my self-tape practice and honing my work! Looking forward to getting my data report and learning how to improve more! A few bugs in the app, but overall works great.
Good potential
Good concept - very similar to scenebot. App itself has quite a few bugs. Some can be fixed by deleting and reinstalling the app, some not. The in-app reader is nice, but you can’t adjust the beginning and end of the recording to allow for a moment before/moment after. You also don’t get any specific feedback besides a 1-5 ranking, which can be helpful over time, but it would be beneficial to have specific feedback from those casting directors in order to truly understand the rankings. It is in beta phase, so looking forward to see how it improves.

Technical issues
The idea of this is super cool so I hope they get it figured out, but the technical glitches within the app cause so much frustration which steals the joy of this practice. The way the app is laid out does not match the size of my phone screen so some of the buttons, like the < (back button), are not accessible ergo causing me to get stuck on a page in the app. So I end up having to close the app every single time it gets stuck, then open it and start all over again. Also glitches with purchasing credits and updating profile. Please fix the app!!! It’s such a good idea!

I enjoy this app so much I became a member!
This app has brought the fun back to acting for me. The scenes are super creative and allows me to give myself permission to do something out of my wheelhouse. My absolute favorite thing about Castability is their in depth data analysis zoom calls. After submitting 12 scenes you can set up a zoom meeting and get an in depth breakdown of your data and discuss where you can improve. I learned that I needed to try more scenes with the archetypes Ruler and Creator. Having that meeting gave me so much insight and encouragement to grow and try out those archetypes that I would have simply given up on. I also love the Castability community. I have created my own separate self tape Instagram page and so many other Castability members follow and show me so much support. I also learn so much from my peers on Castability from their Winners Gallery.
I could honestly go on about why I have so much fun with this app but my thumbs are tired hahaha. Thank you Castability for all you do. I’m glad to have joined in the beta stage and cannot wait to continue to see the growth of this application :)

An incredible tool for actors
In an industry where we often feel like we’re sending self tapes into the void with no feedback - enter Castability! It’s been invaluable to me to be able to submit relevant material, to currently working casting directors, and receive specific feedback. After compiling that feedback over time, I now have a more comprehensive view of how casting sees me - something that would have taken months to years of audition data to compile!

Won’t let me register as an actor
I’d like to utilize the app, but it won’t let me register - keeps saying my password is missing criteria, though it isn’t. Assuming this is just a bug that will soon be worked out
Great concept, but there are glitches.
I love the spirit of this, and I think it’s close to being great. The main issue I am having is that the video I record on the app, using the auto reader, has consistent audio issues. After the reader speaks, my voice comes in at an incredibly low volume. My voice eventually rises in volume, but the cycle keeps repeating. Also, the auto reader volume cuts out often. I have contacted Castability about this, and they have assured me that my videos all have great audio with no problems on their end, but the video I save from the app is impossible to hear in spots. I tried fixing the issue with an audio mixing app, but it wasn’t successful.

SdctenorApp not letting user create new account
The app is not letting me create a new user account! Despite tapping on the First and Last Name fields, no cursor or keyboard input prompt appears. It seems there are still bugs that need to be fixed

Like from the scenes I’ve gotten in the e-mails- it’s solid stuff with quality material to practice and work. If bugs are fixed, I can update this. I like the idea, but it needs some fixing still.

It will not let me create an account. It will not let me do anything.
App doesn’t work
Was excited to take part in the Cast Away Cancer challenge only to discover I cannot even create an account on the app. First time I tried and hit submit, nothing happened. So I deleted and reinstalled and now I can’t even select my state/city—it’s completely blank. “App Support” links to their general website. I’ve sent an email but am not hopeful they’ll know what’s wrong.

Brilliant Evolution (revolution?) of the Casting Process
This is a seemless and 2021 way to audition for parts. I actually think it's so forward thinking - let's give it a 2025 way to audition! The app is seemless and saves time for EVERYONE in the process while still giving casting directors a very accurate and thorough way to assess the talent needed for a specific role. Loving this.
