Bugs ruin this game
I love the game but after spending money I can hardly ever get through a game without a bug stopping me from continuing. I emailed the developers months ago and received no reply.
Online is great - AI is buggy
If you play the online version, you can usually get into a game pretty quick and people move fast - the card game version I’ve never been able to get into a game. The AI version where you use a ‘sun’ to play - it’s a waste of time, you’ll start playing and it’ll be great and then there will be a bug where the game just freezes and then you can’t play that game mode anymore because there’s no way to cancel a game.

Game is booty cheeks
Account set up is atrocious. You cannot restart a game if you don’t like your initial setup. It feels super janky and just awful. Deleted immediately.
Years later and this app is STILL a mess
Seriously, how is this app still this bad after all these years? I’m stuck in the middle of a game because it suddenly stopped loading. I can’t get back into the game, and I can’t even start a new one. The app is basically unusable right now.
People have been complaining about the same glitches, freezing, and loading issues for YEARS. This is a paid game. At some point, you need to actually spend the money customers are paying on developers who can fix these problems. Catan is a great game, but this app is unbelievably frustrating.

Don’t do it
Garbage game.
Server too slow to play online, only 1 game very 12 hrs
The server is too slow and keeps kicking me out the games (my internet is ok) and then there’s this sun that needs to reload after 12 hrs to play again. Also dices are rigged, not random, at the end of the day its impossible to play.

Too Many Glitches
It’s a great competitive game but there’s too many glitches and bugs specifically when there’s bots. If that gets fixed then it would be 5 stars.
Catan is fun game is frustrating
Look I’ve been playing this app for years and I LOVE the board game. But it shocks me how many bugs this game has! For a game I paid for I expect them at some point to fix it! It’s crazy I have over 400 wins online and would have many more if the game wasn’t so glitchy.
Buggy and devs don’t fix longstanding problems
Catan is a beautiful game, but there are severe defects that have been a part of the online game for years and remain unfixed. E.g. AI players that repeatedly ask for trades with no end; games that crash and get stuck on a loading screen; players able to place pieces one corner away; and perhaps the worst is the dodgy dice algorithm that is not random.

Fun game, but glitches and bugs
The game will kick players out randomly during the middle of play, and get stuck on a loading screen if they try to rejoin. Frustrating to pay money to play then not be able to get through a game without someone getting kicked out and their player becoming a bot.
Game is fun. The app is not.
So infuriating, it has issues and bugs kicking you out of games, freezing games and also deleting your account but then says your account is active. Super annoying

Game of Catan is always fun, but this? Always the same tile layout, always the same dice layout, can only play 1 “solo” game every 12 hours, definitely a pay to play experience.

About every 4-5 games I play online 1 of those games are bound to freeze my app and get stuck in loading screen. My game has even been stuck for over 16 hours I’ve tried even deleting app and redownloading and still frozen. It’s a great game and I love playing it But, yall have to fix that because it’s making me not want to play anymore.

Look at the wing bird game or tile road castle field game, or the trains game for on how to make a board game work digitally. this new Catan game is a money grab. I can’t invite a friend to play an expansion.

Ai bots cheat
The solo game seems to favor the bots winning as they stop accepting trades after turn 3 and the dice feel loaded to the places where the bots have settlements. The dice throw do not feel random at all.
