About

Hey! It's the Caukie Vietnamese dictionary. Named after my favourite Vietnamese word cầu khỉ literally meaning monkey bridge but referring to an ad-hoc bamboo bridge used to cross small rivers. Caukie Vietnamese dictionary is an eternally work in progress Vietnamese-English dictionary aimed at learners of Vietnamese. We aim to feature entries complete with definitions, examples, REAL WORLD USE, slang, online shorthand, EVERYTHING! Caukie is created by volunteers so the data in it is a bit messy, please send any feedback to feedback@caukie.com. Caukie collects absolutely no data except crash reports, has no ads and features no in-app purchases. Also for some reason there's an Irish-English dictionary now.

What's New in Caukie Vietnamese dictionary

1.1.0

February 11, 2026

- [NEW FEATURE] Searching for declined, conjugated (if you have the declension database installed and enabled) or mutated (seimhiu and uru) forms of a word now should find the base form. For example searching for gcait will find results for cait and cat. Searching for bhád will find bád. Searching for déanamh will find déan. - [NEW FEATURE] Added Connemara audio file pack, 33000 just like Ulster. - [UI Change] Removed 200ms delay before searches are conducted, I think even older iPhones should be fine with this. - [BUG FIX] Fixed the declension tables missing d' for past tense forms of a verb. - [BUG FIX] Fixed rare crash when looking at dictionary entries after switching back to Caukie from the App Switcher.
