Poorly designed Deposit function
I have used 4 different mobile deposit apps and this is the poorest. Out of 13 checks I deposited, I had to manually write the word “Deposit” on 7 checks in addition to the deposit endorsement stamp that was the same on every single check. Otherwise the app was “unable to find the endorsement.” The app requires you to put in the cents for every deposit, which works poorly for us, since 99 out of 100 checks we receive are for even dollar amounts. You’ll need to get used to finding the “Continue” prompt blending in with the header and discovering that sometimes the black arrow by the bank account number is *not* the right choice, as it does not lead to the next step in making a deposit and you have to go back and touch Continue instead. The camera setup does not utilize the phone’s full screen at all, so you have to hold the phone much farther away to get large business-size checks within the small capture window. The other awkward piece is that unless you enter the amount of the check - the option is below the icons for capturing the front and back images and doesn’t jump out as a “do this first” suggestion, you have to flip the check back over to see the amount. In short, the layout and sequence of steps makes for a clumsy approach to efficiently depositing checks, especially when you have several.
I did appreciate the confirmation when deposits were received and being able to see the list of the deposits. I haven’t done much else with the app yet, so can’t speak to the other features. Grateful that it at least works and works on my not-so-new iPhone.
