This was a 5-star app. My go to CCW app, head and shoulders above the rest that I’ve tried. But now, I can not update the current gun laws. I just keep getting an error screen that says “Failed to connect to update server.” My state recently had sweeping changes to its gun laws and the app doesn’t reflect those (or any other states). If they can get this issue fixed, it’ll go back to 5-stars, but as it stands, having out of date gun laws makes this app unusable.

Can not update current laws

Update
Several days ago it started can’t connect to server so I have been checking several times a day every day a week or more. Sent email to developer to see if I could get an answer but no reply. Have uninstalled and reinstalled nothing changes. My internet has been working fine. I even shut off wifi on my iPhone so I was using data to make sure and no change.

The app is fully working again! The my permits map is slow, like the recent news/changes update feature but it works. The earlier non-functional my permits map is working and appears up to date. Thanks for getting this feature back up. This is a great app. Haven’t tried in the last few months contacting the support team and developer so don’t know if they are responding again or not. There are other alternatives like CCW or ConcealedCarry but I have used this one for years and am glad they are able to keep it going. Congratulations LegalHeat. We’ll keep going forward together with you.

Update glitch
The screen that allows the updates will not load. Freezes the app.
Long Time User
I purchased the original version of this app prior to the “subscription” model. All worked well until then. After the subscription version was released, I was unable to access the app. Finally had that addressed but now, I open the app and it shows that there is an update available. I select the “update all” and the update freezes. The only way to get back to the app is to close it and reopen. I have been trying to install this update for several months to no avail. I have sent many, many requests to support describing the issue over the past several months and never received a reply. An app like this MUST be up to date to be of any value. This app CAN’T be updated and is now useless. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP…there is NO SUPPORT.

Hello Irving, we DO NOT require a login to access the state (concealed and open carry), federal and transport laws. All you have to do is click the "skip login" button if you do not wish to create an account. The fact that you are again leaving a 1 star review with incorrect and misleading information immediately after we are pushing out a new update to the app is suspicious that your review may not be legitimate. In your last review you said you were deleting the app, so leaving a review immediately after we push out another update is curious. Again, a login is NOT required, that was the entire point of this update. The content is all entirely FREE. The only "ads" we currently have are one simple banner ad along the bottom of the page. They will always only be firearm industry related and we are working on some fantastic discounts on products that will only be available to app users. However, if you do not wish to see the ads there is the option to continue your subscription (which is the same price it has always been). We look forward to continually updating and improving the app for years to come, for free, for the many millions of concealed permit holders across the United States. We hope to win you back as a user in the future.
My carry map error
It worked when I first got the app but after a while, My Carry map shows “500: Internal server error” message.
And update feature does not work on iPhone 8 screen size. I need to attach Bluetooth keyboard to select OK button to proceed with update. The last I checked, the app still incorrectly shows that the state of Delaware does not have magazine capacity limits. But it does as of mid 2022.

Love the app.
Had this app for about 10 years. It’s very handy when I travel across many states and how to carry in them.
Always updated so you’re not behind on something and get I to hit water.

Great Source of Information
Very informative. Accurate and extensive, yet concise and easy to understand. Any owner of firearms should own this app. It is also a great resource for when you are traveling across different states with a firearm and want to remain within your rights. I cross-referenced this app with my state’s law page and the information is dead on. Absolutely recommend!

App used to be a great tool to check state laws and where you could and couldn’t carry. Last several months it just says server timeout and has become useless. Shame. Good company bad app.
What happened to my map?
I used to be able to see my CCW map but now all I see is “500: Internal Server Error”. Is there a fix in the works? I’ll update the rating once it’s fixed
Just what we need!
I love this app because when I travel, I know I can travel safely and wisely while carrying a firearm. I can also know what states to avoid in my travels in order that my second amendment rights are not infringed upon. Thank you for such a great app that informs all who love the Bill of Rights.

Still getting pop ups
I’ve paid for the ad free service but ham still getting pop ups. I’ve contacted the company with no response after over a week.
Used to be a usable, reliable reference
Ow it won’t even open. It says it needs to update, but the “button” it references doesn’t exist. Go to the App Store, no option to update. So no matter how usable the info might have been, it’s inaccessible.
