Became a CDE today! Used this app to supplement my study regimen! Enjoyed the ease of use and daily questions.
Not overly useful
I passed my CDE exam today with an 89. For the $26, I wish I could say this app was useful but it did not accurately reflect the potential content of the exam. I found the app questions to be far more obscure and finicky than what was actually asked and all it served to do was increase my anxiety. I only had the app for 1 week and truly wish I could get my money back.

Great concept, BAD questions
I love the concept of this app. It’s such a great idea! I’m sure it works well for some exams, but definitely NOT the CDE exam. I just passed with a 87% but when I would take tests on the app I would consistently get 40-60%. It made me feel like I was going to fail, so I stopped using it! The questions weren’t even close to what was on the exam. I should have stuck with using ADA and AADE resources like I was going to. Those are what helped me pass the exam.

Do not recommend
I passed the exam yesterday with an 85%. I wish I could say this app helped me get there. I usually never scored more than 40 to 60% on any of the quizzes as most of the questions have answers that are based on expired recommendations. Some of the answers listed are just wrong.
The questions are phrased strangely, usually explaining a scenario that a nurse, CDE would experience in a hospital setting.
There are much more helpful and up to date resources elsewhere.
If still compelled to purchase this app, I would recommend reviewing each question and answer for accuracy, even if scored as correct.

Good for concepts but not representative of actual exam questions
Overall, I think this is a good app to use for daily questions and getting an idea of what you should be reviewing for a knowledge base. However, out of all the daily practice questions and the 400 purchased questions, they don't really gives you a feel for the actual CDE exam. The CDE exam requires applying information you know to scenarios and may require the application of multiple concepts, standard of care recommendations and facts.
This app is also heavily focused for nurses and the nutrition questions could use some work. It also felt like to me, that questions were copied and pasted from text books with medical jargon.
Overall, use it to test your base knowledge and practice fact recall.

Not worth it
I just passed the CDE, but this app didn't help me get there. The questions are outdated and many contain double negatives. They need to update the app and rewrite the questions more appropriately. I also tended to score 50-60% on these tests yet I passed with a 86% on the actual exam. Would not recommend purchasing.

First of all, glucagon DOES stimulate gluconeogenesis, so maybe the person that wrote that review needs the app more than they thought... Anyway, I am studying using this app, the AADE desk reference, and an online bootcamp. I am using the app to help broaden my knowledge base. I always read the explanations, even if I get the questions correct, because there is a wealth of good information. It is very easy and convenient.

Not helpful
I used this app as part of my study preparation for taking the CDE exam. The questions on this app are very difficult and specific. These questions do not resemble the typical question on the CDE exam. Don't waste your time.
Wrong information
Just read a question about glucagon and hypoglycemia. The explanation of the answers says that glucagon stimulates glycogenesis.
I reread this line at least 10 times thinking I must have just misread it. This really makes me distrust the information in rest of the test questions.

Worth it
Used this along with the AADE textbook plus practice book and mometrix. Passed on my first try due to sheer luck since it was pretty hard. The app provides over 400 questions which helped to broaden my knowledge. These questions, I felt were much more specific and harder than aade and mometrix. Get it, it will only help.

Studying made easy? At least convenient
I study at home with my books and with the app everywhere else. I chose to review the answer as I go and love that I can flag the questions that require more studying.
Unfortunately there are LOTS of those :(
This app is worth every dime.
UPDATE- I take the test this week but I have to say, if I pass it isn't most likely due to this app. It's already mentioned that this apps questions are more difficult. Im my opinion, compared to my other two study guides, these questions are incredibly more difficult. It does nothing but discourage me at this point. I rarely pass my tests here with a 70%. I change my original post from 5 stars to 2.

Get this app it's worth it!!
This app provides test questions that are almost similar to the test questions that I found on my CDE test. Definitely helped that I had this app and practiced with the questions here before taking my CDE. I passed!
A step up from AADE
This app has more difficult questions compared to the AADE's CDE exam review guide. Very helpful if you want to REALLY make sure you know your stuff. Every answer is well cited, so you can look up the resource. I really would like to see flash cards added to this app. It is only test questions currently. Overall, great purchase!

Amazing.
Purchased this app to study for the CDE exam. Would do questions on the go. The questions were incredibly helpful: every one provides rationales that taught me something new with every question. And the references attached to each question were just as helpful -- I could use them to read about a certain topic r/t the question. This app is worth every penny. If you're on the fence about getting it, do it. It will help increase your knowledge about dm in ways no other text book/test prep can.
