Not Intuitive
Not User Friendly
Hard pass on this one
Might be okay if you only have a few bottles.
Can’t create a cellar
Nice concept but needs work
e.g.,
-Bottle capacity for a given rack is a preset number vs column x row
-Vertical 3 column x 21 row rack = 63 bottles...not 64!
-Vertical 3 column x 18 row = 54 not 49!
-No set up for a horizontal display. Mine is 8 rows, 2 column x 2 deep = 32 not 36!
-My diamond cube holds 82. There is no selection for 82. Cubes should have a option to label by bin or cube vs column and row.
-Magnum column is displayed at half the height of the regular columns because it has fewer rows. No adjustment was made for the larger bottles even though Magnum was selected.
-Rack placement has a hard time with left, right and center. Should be able to number a rack then the next one could be rack 3 is center below rack 2 or rack three right of rack 2. Or rack 3 is on the floor and rack 2 is above and centered on rack 3.
-No set up for wall mounted single bottle pins.
-There is no corner racking selection.
-How about a room dimension feature?
-How about a label for the walls? North wall, East wall, etc.
Very disappointed.
Response from developer
Sorry to hear that you're having problems. It seems that the instructions on the interface weren't as clear as they needed to be. When laying out a cellar, bottle capacity and bottle size are used to size the inner diamond, square or triangle within the section (the area highlighted in red in the Storage Type graphic). This component is then multiplied by rows and columns to create the section. Bottle capacity is preset, because only certain combinations are valid. A diamond or square for example, can hold 1, 4, 9, 16... or 100 bottles, while a triangle can hold 1, 3, 6, 10... or 105 bottles. So, for example, if your rack were a 3 x 21 square that held a total of 63 bottles (1 in each square), select Square storage type, bottle capacity of 1, your favorite bottle size, 3 rows, 21 columns and press done. Now try adding another section: tap the section you just created and then press add. Using the same dimensions as above, but a different bottle size and you'll see the difference. Touch with 2 fingers to rotate around and you'll see in 3D that bottle size diameter and height were accounted for -- CellarView bottle sizes are based on real world dimensions. As for the room and walls... some customers have created multiple cellars associated with the same Location to solve -- Cellar names "Main (North)" and "Main (East)" and Location name "Home", for example. I hope that helps. You can also take a look at the walkthrough on laying out a cellar. It's in the app at More > Walk Throughs > Cellars > Layout a Cellar. Or, if you'd like, send a picture of your cellar or screen to CellarViewApp@gmail. I'm happy to help. I'd also appreciate hearing from you about what I can change to make the interface more clear. Finally, if after trying these things and seeing that they work, I hope you'll consider revising your review. It would be much appreciated. Thanks!
