Useful sound panel

I use it in my RPG sessions, to add sound effects throughout. It didnโ€™t take long to figure out the way it works, then I was good to go.

Stutters and delays playing own sounds

Long delay playing custom added sounds, and stutters.. rubbish. Need a refund

Great app that stopped working

Would give it 5 stars but it crashes every time I try and upload a sound effect into it... so frustrating. Hope they fix it

Cannot overlap sounds

Multi touch appears to be broken. Otherwise it works ok. The layout could be more user-friendly.

caveat emptor

I bought this as I'm desperately looking for a quality soundboard that will allow for the assignment of custom button images. While this one will do that, I paid for the additional in-app purchase that claims to add "expanded media options" or some such nonsense. Granted, it was only $1.99, but the point is it does not work. Nothing happens when tapping the audio import button. Nothing. This is broken and hasn't been updated in a while so it may never work properly. Very frustrated...

Response from developer

The audio import function will import a song from your music library. Update to the latest version of the app and try again. When prompted, give the app access to the Music Library (or Media and Apple Music). You will then be able to select a song from your library and assign to the custom button. If you're not prompted for access, go to iOS Settings under Privacy and enable access there.

great option for a soundboard

I've used this for the past two seasons for my sons baseball team and its fantastic!

Great custom sound board

I love the layout, easy to add sounds and pics. I use this for DJ ing game shows and it is my favorite sound board!

Great Custom Soundboard

A really fun app that is great for keeping kids entertained and being a riot on Xbox. Not many high quality preset sounds, but plenty of room to record and customize your own.

Best app on the market

This app is wonderful. Perfect for productions, events, or just playing around on the couch. Very easy to use and many options to add your own custom sounds. Customer service is outstanding. They respond directly to any question you have regarding the app within 24 hours. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that enjoys playing with sound effects. Would rate 10 stars if able to.

Excellent Soundboard

Why spend more for a soundboard when this one gives you all you need? Get the upgrade, and you're set! Easy to use. Taps into all your iTunes playlists and will play through your Bluetooth sound system. Highly recommended.

Great soundboard app!

Needed a soundboard app for live performance applications. This does everything I need and more. Importing sound files and button graphics couldn't be easier. And the one time I needed tech assistance, the developer was more helpful than I could have hoped for. If you need a soundboard, check this out!!

Great app and great service!

Fun to amuse your friends in meetings! Also very responsive developer...I discovered an issue, emailed support and in only a few hours received a reply. Just now my iPad says there's an update, less than a week later that fixes my issue! I know of sw costing thousands that doesn't get fixed that quick! Great job...

Issues

Does not accept formats other than WAV, which are larger files, and then it tells me a 1-2 minute wave is too large of a file!? Also, the app is not accepting copied URLs from safari. It is only taking URLs when copied into an email and then emailed to myself. It's like it will only work when it's a link that is blue and underlined. So much potential but completely useless. Please fix!!!

Response from developer

In later versions, support was added to detect a URL even if it wasn't an actual link. Please try with latest version. Regarding sound size. The app is designed to play sounds instantly and in order to achieve this sounds have to be preloaded. Due to memory constrains, there had to be a size limit. If you want to play full songs, you can use the Expanded Media option to load songs from your Music library. Those don't have a size limit and are not preloaded.

Stopped working

The app stopped working completely. When I touch the effects buttons they are highlighted in a blue "aura" but no sound is produced. I've fiddled around with the "edit", "move", "options", and "info" buttons to no avail. When I tried to contact Discovolos, the link to email them was dead. Any help?

Response from developer

Please try with latest version and make sure the volume is turned up and device is not in silent mode. A lot of fixes since then so hopefully the latest version works for you.

Has potential

I have discovered one annoying bug, and a couple features I wish it had. I upgraded the app so I can add my own music, a feature I need. The bug is that when a song is playing the "pause" button is not always there. Instead, the "play" button remains available while my audio is playing. The problem is that I cannot stop the music unless I hit the " mute" button. Then I must hit "un mute" before I play another piece of audio. The features I would like is to be able to have a button play a music playlist instead of just one song. Switching between this app and iTunes is a pain. Finally, I wish there was a volume control on the app. Now the only volume option is the iPad's side volume buttons.

Response from developer

Please try the latest version. There have been lots of fixes and improvements since then, including a volume control was added in the app. If you're looking for playing more than just one song, you may want to try one of my other apps, Platinum Music Player. It can play or shuffle a playlist or play all songs by one artist (through the search feature).

This is the tool for radio show professionals!

If you work on radio and you do morning shows or talk shows you need this tool. I've tried all the sound boards for iPad the AppStore has to offer and this is by far the more accurate and professional tool for us! It has overlapping sounds and it let you upload the audios made by you in your studio via the iTunes app. If they let me add sounds by opening email attachments or by browsing the iPod library using just the iPad without connecting it to my Mac it will be better! Please add those features in your next upgrade! Keep the good work. Say goodbye to your old Instant Replay (colleagues inside joke)

Most customizable of all...

Pros: This app is by far the most customizable of them all. Good sounds to begin with but better when I add my own. Not only that but being able to create my own button graphics helps me locate the buttons quicker when I need them. I use mine at work. When the kids get into my van a voice tells them to "Buckle Up!", and when we arrive Mickey Mouse tells them he's glad they've arrived.

Cons: Your sound clips have to be ridiculously short (can't use it to trigger a song or long spiel), the file transfer system isn't the most friendly of them all (You'll need at least a C+ in computer efficiency) and unlike other sound board apps, you can't load directly from your iPod app (all your soundbites have to be in .wav format - use iTunes to convert).

All in all I gave it 4 stars but mostly because I'm good with computers and could figure it all out. It's certainly the best of what's available. I hope in future updates they allow iPod transfers or at least let us transfer longer (higher quality) sounds.

Awesome app - and only 99c!

I'm extremely satisfied with this app, CenterStageXL! I use it to enhance the Star Wars role-playing games I play with my friends. I've uploaded dozens of Star Wars .WAV file sound effects and quotes from the movies. When they see R2D2 I press a button that makes his beeps. When stormtroopers shoot at them they hear blaster fire. This app really makes my players feel like they're in the movie.

The developer is really responsive to emails. He replied within a day to several of my requests and questions.

Great value - especially for less than a buck!

Pretty Neat

CenterStageXL is a pretty nifty app that allows you to have a very customizable soundboard for your iPad.

There are quite a few soundboard apps out there ranging from fart sounds to game show sounds. Sure they are neat and funnyโ€ฆbut the entertainment didn't last very long for me. Many of these apps restrict you to the sounds provided with the app. Some allow you to record your own sounds using the device (iPad / iPhone / iPod). This app also allows you to record your own sounds. What sets it apart is the ability to upload my own sounds and icons via iTunes and change them whenever I want.

As far as sound goes, the provided sounds are ok. Yes, they are of the generic category (the quality of sound is good on my iPad) but I didn't get the app for these sounds. I got it so I can put my own in. I have been able to put my own files on easily with the instructions provided and they sound great. Works as advertised which is always a plus.

My only wish is that the developer continues to work on the app in order to provide additional functionality (for me - yeah selfish - I'd like to see a future option to play different file formats). Overall, I like the app. I can see it costing more than the current $.99 price tag but like most consumersโ€ฆI prefer the $.99 category of pricing.

Nice update

I tried out the iPhone version some time back and really liked it. The iPad version has a lot more room for icons and is easier to use.

The copy/paste and file uploading from iTunes really is a nice improvement. Adding new sounds and icons is a lot easier now.

The sound quality is great and I was really surprised how good the recording is on the iPad with the built-in microphone.

I haven't played with the timers yet so I don't know how good this is, but the interface seems easy to use.
