Do you have add? Well get this app!

Our lab doesn’t accept TNTC and most of the time we have very little growth so it’s not a big deal. This month I’ve hand more than over 100 colonies on each plate and my add and needy coworkers make count difficult. I was thinking hmmm someone should make an app for this and I decided to look it up. If you don’t get accurate results (it will show which ones it counted in a red box) the either turn the plate a little and retake image or count the one that are highlighted. Saves so much time.

Great fun using it, but extra care for crowded places

The app is fun to use and works most of the time. Depending on the light in the lab, the glare makes it a bit harder to get the picture right and a few colonies may be missed. All said and done, you find a right spot in the lab, with the right dark background and it does the job. Avoid overcrowded plates as you would when counting yourself and prefer to use those in the range of 25 to 250 and you are all set.
