About

Chain Finder works out what chain your saw takes from the chain itself — and then remembers it, so you only ever do it once. KEEP YOUR SAWS Add every saw you own and record its pitch, gauge and drive link count against it. Call them whatever you call them in the shed. Next time you are standing at a counter, you open the app and read your own note instead of trying to remember which one takes the 56 link and which takes the 72. MEASURE, AND WATCH IT NARROW Five possible pitches sit on the screen. Measure across three rivet centres, type the number, and the ones that cannot be yours grey out. One measurement usually takes it down to one or two — then a single tap files the answer against the saw it came off. WHEN TWO ARE TOO CLOSE, IT SAYS SO 3/8 inch and 3/8 low profile are four tenths of a millimetre apart across three rivets. No tape measure separates them and no honest chart pretends otherwise. Chain Finder tells you they are tied and gives you what actually breaks the tie. NO MODEL LISTS, NOTHING TO GO STALE There is no database of manufacturers here and no part numbers. It works from the chain in your hand, which is why it reads the same on a saw made this year and one made thirty years ago. Anything you type against a saw stays on your device. WORKS OFFLINE No account, no signal. Measure a clean chain, use a steel rule rather than a tape where you can, and check against the markings on your bar before buying.
