Chango is a group contribution and crowdfunding platform designed with African cultural values in mind. It allows individuals, families, and communities to pool funds for shared goals, offering a secure and transparent way to manage contributions and disbursements. It supports various payment methods including Mobile Money and cards.
Chango offers two types of groups: Private groups are for known individuals with shared aspirations, ideal for families, friends, or alumni. Public groups are for verifiable organizations to raise funds from the general public for specific campaigns. Both offer transparency in fund tracking.
Disbursement of funds from private groups is democratic, requiring members or admins to vote according to the group's policy. Funds can be settled into bank accounts or mobile wallets. Private groups can also be configured to allow members to borrow funds and repay them.
Chango is useful for various scenarios such as alumni groups funding school projects, raising money for medical needs, supporting families during bereavements, responding to emergencies and reliefs, and even for family house-keeping and expense tracking.
Based on the provided information, the app is listed as 'free'. This suggests that there are no upfront costs or subscription fees to use the core functionalities of the platform for creating and managing groups and contributions.
