Really like this app. Clean, simple. Great Business Tool.
Glitchy and poor customer service
This app is often glitchy. Now it won’t open on my phone at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, made sure everything was up to date, etc. I tried contacting support in their chat and no one ever responded after several days.

WORST UPDATE EVER
For some reason on this update message threads can now only be read by a 1 inch window. Clearly this much be a glitch with another fix-update coming.

Good, free basic Slack clone
Looking for a Slack competitor that is completely free for small teams, has all of the basic chat functionality , and most importantly retains all of your data? You found the right place.
It definitely lacks the breadth of feature Slack supports. And it occasionally has some bugs, mostly on mobile apps. But it’s the only free hosted service that doesn’t delete data that I am aware of.

Warning! Very dubious app!
Content that is deleted can still be accessed and displayed in the browser. Even if it is content from a so-called protected top secret room. I recommend using Slack instead.
The features are great but doesn’t work well
The app is constantly giving notification badges despite them all being read.
It almost never scrolls the thread down when you or a teammate send a new message, leading to missed messages as you talk.
Sometimes it requires a reboot to see your sent messages if too many are sent in a row.
The whole app is very slow to load.
These issues persist, granted less so, in the desktop app.
The features are amazing but please fix the bugs.

Je trouve l’app vraiment bien, mais au final il y a trop de bug qui gêne l’usage. Mon équipe aimerait changer d’app tellement c’est gênant à l’utilisation.

Great work chat app
Would love to see webhooks for custom integrations, but otherwise great.
Crazy potential but willing?
Since Moxtra/Moxo Individual goes out of business, there is a huge market for Chanty to step in before others do.
A lot of important features are still missing but maybe there is a will to step into a market of paperless offices, with document organization and handling, esignatures, annotations, comments...
Recordable voice and videos call with comment and export functionality. File manager with folders and file organization and comments on files plus zip-compressed file downloads.
Chat organization in the sidebar is key! Folders/categories for projects/clients with sort functionality. External chat participants with sending in emails to the chat like <chatname>(at)<company>(dot)chanty(dot)com.
A lot of companies would love to switch but is Chanty going for it or leaving it to the competition? The clock is ticking.
PS: Upgrade your payment plans asap. A startup as well as small companies or an attorney office needs 100+ clients but runs often by just 1-10 people and wants an organized way to communicate. They won't pay for each client that needs to get on board with Chanty.

Bad experience on iOS
Bad experience:
- Messages take long to load, even though the not notification shows them
- sometimes you have to switch to another chat and then back in
- you cannot delete multiple messages at the same time
- long pressing a message activates the magnifier, so you can see the menu but can’t select anything.
This review refers only to the iOS app, not for Chanty overall.

Audio problems
For some reason if you’re listening to any type of audio and you open the app it switches the audio to as if you’re on a phone call. I’ve been told a few updates ago that they would fix it but still blaring out my ears. Our company had too many complaints so we decided to switch to another company.

Overall for our team this app would be the right solution. But the iOS app makes the experience very bad.

Wouldn’t recommend!
After trying a few other messaging apps, we thought we found the one! The first day was great, but after that, it was down hill! App would glitch, not let us send messages, wouldn’t open etc. Using this app for communication for a business and its staff, we needed to rely on it to keep in touch and say organized. Unfortunately, it did none of that. Had to resort back to our old communication app!
If you’re using this app for personal reasons, this might work, but for anyone who needs to rely on it for communication, this wouldn’t be for you!

Steer Clear Avoid - Bad Customer Service
Bad almost non-existent level of Support - Video And Voice calls fail to work on so many levels - No GDPR control - as this company is not based in the UK - You cannot delete chat messages - a strict regulation of course regarding GDPR in the UK - We had to go back to zoom for video and voice calling - video calls and voice are what this app is meant to do - sadly not - initially we got excuses - we have continually raised this over and over again every month for over 5 months and kept been told a standard response we are looking into it - contacted support numerous times and they still keep taking the money from your account and don’t help - After 5 months of taking the full price no apologies and a paltry offer of one month free because we are non-profit - Avoid Avoid - companies like this should not be in the App Store and when you purchase a service from a company and the website says it works it should - we had fifty people trying to use this and none of them could even get the video call or voice calls to work -

Wonderful app!
Its a good app! Beautifully made, however I do often have trouble opening video files, and another friend of mine that uses chanty reports the same. It turns into mp4 files and while it is mostly an inconvenience, often the videos are just short videos for laughs. Just a slight ick, is a great app though!! 11/10

Hi there! Current version doesn't support all video formats (codecs). We do know how inconvenient it can be at times. At the moment we are looking for the solution on how the most popular formats can be played.
Good alternative to slack but
Great alternative to slack
My only request is that for the mobile app, exiting a png file window is fixed. Right now tapping the x on an iPhone 11 does not work. Sometimes I have to tap multiple times or quit the app.
Also, seems that holding on a chat message to react isn’t that fluid.

Great app for organizing and sharing
I’ve been looking for a app that I can organize, save, and share the things I learned or to learn. Every other app out there comes with so many more features that I don’t need. This is simple and keeps to the basics which is easy for me to share my info with my team, family, and friends.

Not enough credit
There isn’t neat enough reviews for this app. I’m currently moving from slack over to chanty and won’t ever go back!! Easy to use, love the to do list, and very user friendly!!!
