About
A retro-style falling-block puzzle game with the grid taken out.
Two rules changed, and all the chaos follows from them.
ROTATION IS ANALOG
Pieces are not limited to quarter turns. The right stick spins a piece to any angle at all, and holds it there.
GRAVITY IS REAL
A piece that lands is a rigid body. It tumbles, it slides, it settles wherever the physics puts it — on a corner, on a slope, wedged against a wall. The stack is a pile of objects, not a tidy grid of cells.
So there are no rows to complete. A horizontal band clears when it is FULL ENOUGH: enough of its area covered, at any angles you managed. Only the blocks whose centres fall inside the band are removed. The rest of the piece survives, breaks into loose fragments if it has to, and keeps falling. Nothing is shifted down — the pile collapses on its own.
PIECES THAT ARGUE BACK
Most pieces are ordinary. A few are not, and you find out which the hard way.
HEAVY — cast steel, several times the mass, falling faster than anything else in the well. It shoves the pile aside instead of settling on top of it, then freezes at whatever angle it stopped at.
BOUNCY — Matte rubber. It will not land where you aimed it.
STICKY — Slime. It splats where it touches and stays there, and whatever leans on it is stuck too. The one piece that will not slide down into the gap it was about to fill.
SLIPPERY — Ice. It skates off whatever it lands on, and whatever rests against it is slippery too.
MAGNETIC — It draws its neighbours in for as long as it is in the pile, and bends your falling piece off the line you aimed at.
WEDGES — Right triangles. They stand exactly where they land and leave slope behind, which is the one thing in the game that can undo a hole instead of making one.
BALLS — The only thing in the game that rolls: off the shoulder of the pile, down a slope, into a corner, dragging whatever it hits.
CONTROLS
Left stick steers. Right stick spins. The button between them drops the piece. External game controllers are supported as well.
