I am correcting my previous review. This app does not like books shared to it from the context menu in Files. But if you open an epub from within Chapters, then it works. You also scroll downwards to advance through the book—not sideways. That wasn’t apparent at first. Anyway, it’s kind of nice.
It doesn’t even open
I just get a flash on the screen for a nanosecond and the app promptly disappears.
Application does not start - not working
Chapters 2.1 does not work with OSX 10.13.1, keeps crashing. Unable to upgrade to latest version with out repurchasing the app.

wouldn’t load in latest os so contacted support. They replied instantly with a fix!
Simple graphic insertion corrupts other formatting
I’m wanting to put a jpeg in place of the png in an epub generated by Pages. (Everything else looks great on the Kindle upload of the epub straight out of Pages.)
Sigil enabled me to change the graphic, but then it threw a blank line after every paragraph in the whole book!
Chapters worked “better”: deleting the placeholder png image and inserting the jpeg JUST inserts a blank line between every paragraph throughout the chapter I edited. Still, very disappointing for a paid App!
Also, the save feature wouldn’t work to a volume other than the startup volume.
If I could find a way to request my money back, I would do so.
I also tried BlueGriffin (mentioned by another review), but that doesn’t edit epub documents natively.

Does the job
I needed a simple ePub editor. Sigil was screwing up the table of contents for some reason. Calibre was screwing up Sanskrit (OK, I have peculiar needs). BlueGriffon seems to have dissapeared — numerous emails to the company went unanswered.

Cannot handle portrait vs landscape orientation
Converted a landscape epub into a portrait pdf, covering just the top half of the page. Very limited editing facilities, and printing is quite basic. Would not recommend - If I could, I would demand a refund, but I don’t even know where to start
Chapters - Does not even open
I purchased this to edit some epub books I had written and after purchasing and downloading the App doesn’t even open. Each time I tried I get Chapters quit unexpectedly. I shut down computer and restarted but still no luck. A waste of $6.99
