How to make banana Bread

This simple, step-by-step recipe is a great way to use up overripe bananas for a moist, flavorful loaf. The key to great banana bread is using very ripe, brown-spotted bananas, which provide natural sweetness and moisture.
Ingredients
3 very ripe bananas, mashed (about 1½ cups)
⅓ cup melted butter
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
⅛ tsp salt
1½ cups all-purpose flour
Optional mix-ins: 1 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prepare for baking
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
2. Combine wet ingredients
In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until they are mostly smooth with a few small lumps remaining.
Stir in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
3. Mix dry ingredients
In a separate, smaller bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon (if using), and salt.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients
Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture.
Use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to stir the batter just until the flour streaks disappear. Do not overmix, as this can make the bread tough and dense.
5. Add mix-ins and bake
If you're adding walnuts or chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Cool and serve
Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
Transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing. Slicing too early can cause it to crumble.
