CHAT23 is suitable for screening 16-30 months of infants and young children, to assess the child's behavior and communication skills.
If the child's CHAT23 screening results are positive, then the child has the risk of other developmental disorders or delays, it is strongly recommended that the child is referred for early intervention and diagnostic testing as soon as possible.
Please note that if a doctor or parent is suspected of having autism spectrum disorders, children should be referred for evaluation regardless of the result of the CHAT23.
