Loads But Doesn’t Respond To InQuiries on iOS 12.7.5

I have two iPads as well as lots of tech. My oldest iPad Mini 2 is still in use as a reader for Kindle, pdf, and fast web searches. Having a chat bot would help my research enormously. The download is supposed to work with iOS 12 but it doesn’t run. It locks up after you type an inquiry.
Animation and user interface looks good but if it can chat it’s no good.
