This is a true endgame app
This is NOT a collection of chess puzzles. With such puzzles there’s only one right move. Make a wrong move, and the game halts. And you get an error message of some sort.
Here you start with actual endgames. You can make any legal move you want and the game will continue on.
I can’t rate the game 5 stars because it’s a bit clunky. After you move you must press an arrow to get the computer to move.
It would be nice if the computer then moved automatically like in most chess games.

What is this?
I don’t even know what this is supposed to be. It’s completely stupid.
Improving somewhat
YAY !!!
Now I CAN go directly to a specific game number. As promised, I’ve changed my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars.
Thank you !!!
But STILL can’t go directly to a specific game number. Add that and get five stars from me.

Give Credit Where Due
These are problems of the mate in X variety. For example the first one 8/8/8/p7/kPr4R/N1P5/2P5/1K5Q is by A.Myers, 1882. There are three issues with this app: (1) They do not credit any of the composers. This is beyond annoying, it is simply NOT DONE. One star for that alone. (2) They do not give the stipulations, in this case "mate in 2". (3) They do not give the correct solutions, for this one it is 1.Qd5. The app seems to calculate the solution on the fly, the first time it gave mate in 4 starting 1.b5+, the second time mate in 3 starting 1.Qa8. I looked at a sample of the other problems and it is the same story.

Badly designed
There are no instructions and you have to play both sides!
Needs tweaking but very useful
So this app tests you on whatever openings you study. Bad points are you can't select what you study once you have tried a few openings. I have tried three main lines now and know the first but it keeps coming up so you have to just skip through it. Also it's a little buggy in that it skips to the beginning and end of some openings by mistake for a move or two then realised and brings you to the opening it was supposed to show next. All in all very useful though. I've learnt three openings main lines in one day. Thanks for this free app!

Endgame Training or Puzzles?
I would say they are puzzles, puzzles with about 1/4 or so pieces on the board. I guess they are endgame puzzles, as solving the puzzles results in checkmate. The price is right, the app is entertaining, so I give it 5 stars.
