Adjourned games get stuck
The Adjourned games get stuck at 16 because of bad connection and the game won’t let you play after that. Hard to resolve that issue.
Last version has a big bug
The latest version is faulty. I now cannot contact FICS. It won’t allow me to add a FICS account and when I try to log on as a guest the program stops. Fix ASAP.

Já havia comprado este aplicativo, porém precisei trocar de aparelho e reinstalar-lo novamente, e agora para utilizá-lo com as funções desbloqueadas está pedindo para comprar o jogo novamente.

FCIS Almost Unplayable Lag
When it works, it works great. But half of the times, the FCIS option where I want to play speed chess against others — the lag of device input renders playing not possible. Sometimes hard booting my iPhone XR and then relaunching the ChessWise app seem to solve the issue, but recently that doesn’t appear to do much anymore.

Reale good App
Playing on FICS is very good, Even on LTE. Cannot follow the critics on difficult connections. Good Board and functionslity on free App. Recommend it.
Used to be better
Despite paying for the app, functionality has been reduced over time, e.g. you cannot jump to positions anymore in analysis. Normally, features are added over time, I cannot see anything useful which was added in the last years. Also, the app often disconnects from Fics despite strong wireless signal. Could be the Fics servers though. Regarding Fics: the chat-disabling is totally annoying.

Decent app, needs One improvement
Overall I like this app. Pretty much everything works, but I have a problem changing the level of difficulty in the settings. It is not accessible to a screen reader and probably needs to be redone so that it is accessible. I’m told it’s a drop-down menu but I can’t access or change it from the hardest level as it’s set as the default.

Good, but why no annotations for check?
I liked this app at first because one of the things you can do is enter your own annotations for games. However, it became clear that it is not possible to show when the King is checked in the annotations. This is a rather important as sometimes you need a reminder when the King is under attack. In most recorded games a + sign is used to denote check yet this is nowhere to be found in the software. A bit disappointing which rather spoils what should be an excellent app.

Love this app, best of its kind that I’ve used, but I can’t see the top row of the board on my iPhone X.
My favorite IOS chess database pgn viewer and FICS client
I have been using Chess-wise for several years. I’m a club player and I find it easy to enter games on my phone after I play one over the board while at the site and the game is still fresh in my mind. I can export and import PGN files with ease to / from my computer in various ways. I also find it’s a very usable FICS client. The databasing and analysis tools make a great reader companion and when i run on an iPad its as useful as a very pricey pc program. The links to the latest tournaments and videos are a real nice touch. Once I had an import pgn issue and the developer personally responded within days and issued a patch quickly. For just a few bucks, i have seen this app grow with features over the last few years. There are occasional quirks after a release but they get fixed because the dev is active. Its fair to ask a few bucks because I have seen the effort that has been put back into this app over time.
