Great board, not so great app.
The board is incredible, but the app is incapable of playing a bot game where you are black. One reason I bought this board was to learn new openings, I really wish the app had more opening features rather than just telling me what opening I’m in.
Please fix bot games as black, I can’t practice black opening with the app connected.
(Edit) I can get it to work as black every so often, but the app doesn’t connect to the board so well for boy games, getting it to work is tedious. I also can’t seem to get move ratings in a match with the board on the app. and if you do a take back after the computer decides it’s next move, the board will half think they still did it

I can never sign in to chess.com only lichess and when I do the board doesn’t even register or glitches. Horrible app

Paid for premium to use on my chess board and the app and I get logged out like every day out of my account and it’s so annoying like why do I pay for premium and nice stuff and I have to login like every day to my board and chess to even use it just a waste of time it feels like honestly would rather just do it on my phone

I got the ChessUp board a few days ago and I’m already enjoying the app and chessboard so much. Definitely a 10/10
Support is pretty bad
My board stopped working. Lighting is nowhere to be found. I’ve contacted support and they don’t even get back to you. I wish there was another app to connect to their board. This is basically a firmware update that’s messing up with the experience, and i can’t use my super expensive board anymore. 🤦♂️

Awesome tech and great for improving game
Tech is great. Intuitive with great flexibility in adjusting settings. Great integration with Chess.com and visualizing scenarios. Analysis and game review is exceptional. I have been a sporadic player on chess.com using the electronic board on the app. Though I’ve only played with the bots on chessup, playing on the full board is more enjoyable. I look forward to helping teach my grandchildren when they are a bit older (eg turning 4). Exceptional game.

Signing in
I have had to reset my password so many times I got locked out. I finally got in but I still get booted and can’t start a game on chess.com.
I have followed instructions perfectly yet I keep finding myself in the sign in loop. When I finally get signed in to play a match, I suddenly have to connect to chess.com again.

Too hard to link to the board. Make it simpler. The boards good though.
Very buggy
The game history feature frequently fails to import and remember my games when I am trying to analyze, and whenever I open the app, my phone haptics go insane. It also didn’t allow me to log in to my account so I had to create a new one. The in-app game analysis takes forever to load and half the time doesn’t even remember the entire game.

Way too many bugs
To learn from my games I find it absolutely essential to go through the moves and also play out alternatives from certain positions. Unfortunately the analysis mode is super buggy and gets confused quickly to a point where you have to kill the app. The analysis also takes quite some time and is not saved so that you have to wait again. Please improve!
