What's New in Child Rescue Alert UK
1.3
February 27, 2015
This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included. Please Note; A Child Rescue Alert is only activated by the Police when a child is known to have been abducted or their life is believed to be at immediate risk and when particular criteria are met: »»» The child is believed to be under 18 years old; »»» There is a perception that the child is in imminent danger of serious harm or death; »»» There is sufficient information available to enable the public to assist police in locating the child. » Why not issue a Child Rescue Alert for every missing child? »» When Child Rescue Alert is activated huge numbers of people will very quickly become aware of the endangered child. They need to be motivated sufficiently to keep their eyes open and be prepared to report sightings. We have to ensure that people notice the alerts. This is why there are strict criteria. If alerts are raised too frequently Child Rescue Alert could become ineffective. Many types of publicity appeals are made for other missing children in the UK by police forces, the charity Missing People and through the MissingKids website. Please see http://www.childrescuealert.org.uk/home/page/Faqs for more information as well as the FAQs in the app itself.
