Great Apple Watch app for learning Chinese! I really like the spaced repetition system and the idea of studying on my wrist. It makes it easy to
review vocabulary throughout the day.

However, I have two suggestions:

1. Please add Japanese language support. I think many Japanese learners would love this app, but the English only interface makes it difficult for beginners.
2. I would love the watch face complication to rotate through different vocabulary words automatically instead of showing the same word. Seeing a new word every time I check the time would make passive learning much more effective.
3. It would be amazing if tapping the watch face complication could open the learning screen directly instead of going through the main menu!

Thank you for creating such a great app!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review! Weโ€™re really glad youโ€™re enjoying the spaced repetition system and studying Chinese from your wrist. ๐Ÿ˜Š 1. Japanese language support: Iโ€™m currently working on internationalising the app so that it can support more languages. Itโ€™s a fairly big project, but itโ€™s something Iโ€™d definitely like to add in the future. 2. Rotating vocabulary in the complication: The complication already rotates through different vocabulary words. If yours is consistently showing the same word, please reach out through our Support page at https://san-serif.com/support/ and Iโ€™ll be happy to look into it. 3. Tapping the complication: Tapping the word is intentionally designed to show more detail about that particular vocabulary item, allowing you to quickly explore the word directly from the watch face. Thanks again for the kind words and for taking the time to share your suggestions!

Fun Stuff

Iโ€™m not 100% sure that the characters are translated into the most common English word, but still pretty fun.

What is your issue? Have you tried installing on the App Store on your Watch instead of iPhone?

great idea and execution

very good idea to make this app, and it looks/works great! one suggestion, if possible, it would be great to adjust the font size. on my watch the English and Pinyin is very small. it would be great to be able to increase the size of that and maybe the hanzi too.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback, note it was designed with the smaller watch in mind so I had to use smaller fonts to fit all the text in. I will experiment with the layout to see if I can make it larger.

Learning Cantonese/Mandarin simultaneously

I love this app, I have learnt so many new words from using flashcards everyday. The best thing is it can display both translations so I can learn Cantonese and Mandarin together!

Perfect for the Watch

Flashcards form a great tool to hone language skills and this app puts them on your wrist.
The app is beautiful and easy to use. Perfect for a couple of minutes to spare; perfect for the Watch. Highly recommended.

Great app!

Great little flash card app for the watch. I find it very convenient and recommend it to others ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
