Was better - but still good!
I absolutely love Chirp! Inexpensive books, FREE books! This latest update is frustrating tho. The app lags for 30 seconds or so and freezes up. There is also no way to sort books by “in progress”, which I use a LOT. Please bring back this feature. I also dislike not having bookmarks available from the playing page. It’s counterintuitive to go back to the main page in order to access the bookmarks.

Wish I found this sooner…
It’s a great way to find good audiobooks for a great price. You can wishlist a book and just be patient or you can check out all the sales they have and find something you didn’t know you liked.

Makes my phone very hot
In the last two weeks, something has happened to the Chirp app when I run it. My phone gets very hot and my battery dies quickly. Please address this problem.

Kills my phone battery fast!
I love the books that I get from chirp and their great prices. Listening to books is another thing. My phone battery goes down fast! It doesn’t ever do that without chirp running, but with the app playing a book my phone gets hot, and it runs out the battery.

Great app for affordable audiobooks. Seems there’s always a great sale. I seem to be able to find many of the books I can’t seem to find through my library.
No subscription!
I love that I don’t need a subscription for audiobooks. There are lots of choices and wonderful sales. This is not for people who only read current best sellers (use Libby or Hoopla for those) but great for series, classics and thousands of other books. My only issue is that often times the app seizes or crashes.

Lost in translation
I love to have access to the audio of classic literature and book collections I can listen to for hours and hours on end.
cost less $ than a “Credit” and the book is yours to keep!
Chirp is the only way that I get my audiobooks. I’ve tried subscriptions/ credit type sources like audible, listened to books on my library apps (sometimes I still do, just to make sure I really want to buy it beforehand) but I realized quickly that the cost of a MONTHLY credit can easily buy you two books and oftentimes more on Chirp. plus your books are yours to keep so there’s no need for reminders to return them or to purchase them at a higher retail cost in order to have the books forever. Great prices, amazing selection and aesthetically pleasing and easily accessible app.

For the all love of all that is holy quit changing things!!! now I can’t filter out read versus unread. I can’t archive anymore. You still have that stupid banner of how many weeks I’ve been listening to books, I really don’t care! Quit filling up the page with senseless information. And make the tools that you have actually work.

I am obsessed with this app! I do not like subscription this, and subscription that. I appreciate that I can just buy the books I want and there’s always good deals!
Overheating and Battery Drain
I’ve purchased many books through Chirp and love their deals, but lately whenever I use the app it causes my phone to overheat and quickly drains my battery. I’ve restarted my phone, closed all other apps, and changed setting to reduce other background refreshes, so know this app is the issue. This is a serious issue that needs to be fixed.
