Release the captives
This would be an easy 5 stars if you allowed downloads instead of holding us captive to your platform.
Every update seems to make the app WORSE: less efficient, more confusing, and buggy.
Now my newest purchases won’t even download. They’ve been saying “Download Pending” for days. It won’t let me cancel a (supposed) pending download either. It’s not my WiFi and I’ve restarted my phone, which, yes, is regularly and recently updated. I’m sure any comment I get back from customer service will be to delete and reinstall the app (losing all my downloaded audiobooks if I do.) Ugh!
With the new update, the app not only didn’t add more functionality, it added unnecessary layers to achieve what used to be done in one place.
In addition, the first screen I see when I enter the app is useless to me. I don’t care about my progress or achievements, I just want to listen to my books. Take me to my library. Period. I can’t buy books from the app, so focus on what it’s for: LISTENING TO AUDIOBOOKS.
Also, I’ve been asking for a while to be able to reverse/fast forward more than 15 seconds at a time, but still it’s the only option. I’m sure I’m not the only person to have this wish…
I don’t need bells and whistles, I just need straightforward access to my library, and the ability to move through a book efficiently (whether by minutes or chapters.)
I shouldn’t have to leave two screens to change chapters.

I really enjoyed The Dark Mage until the book ended mid story.
Good prices, meh app performance
I really like the prices on these audiobooks, but I'm extremely frustrated in that it doesn't give me a way to select a chapter or a track to backtrack towards. Which really kind of stinks if you fall asleep listening to a book, and then you have to try and figure out where to go back to.

A Really Nice App
Chirp has been wonderful! Large selection with good prices. Books are easily accessible and ready to play whenever I hit play. Just a really gook app that anyone could enjoy.
Great listening
Love this app. Generally works great. Not a fan of the pop ups and announcement telling me I’ve been listening for 200 weeks. That announcement takes up 3/4 of the screen and is always there!

I love this app. It works seamlessly with my devices. The books are a great price, and there are scads of titles across many genres. They have a wishlist feature, which is handy. And they remind you when the wishlisted items are on sale.

Best deals and easy to use
I just had to go to Apple Books to get one book to listen to because it wasn’t on Chirp. It reminded me of why I moved away. The biggest thing is there are no bookmarks on Apple Books. Chirp is the best!
No subscription needed
I really do enjoy this app. The store has a great collection of audiobooks that you can get at a great discounted price. I do like that they offer free audiobooks on Fridays, something I look forward to.
More user friendly library org options please
I’m writing to ask the library portion of the app be more friendly to all types of users. I’d love the option of seeing multiple titles and smaller icons tiles on one page/in one screenshot. And the ability to place them into custom titled folders.
It would feel so much less overwhelming since I’m addicted to purchasing audiobooks!

The best non subscription provider
I love that I don’t have a monthly fee and have so many premium options at a low cost.
OMG YESSSS!!!
I LOVE CHIRP!!No other way to say it. This app allows me to keep reading books I want to read for only a few bucks so I get that online shopping fix I always need and I don’t drain my pockets!! Plus I reading what I want not merely what’s available to me. Oh, one last thing, Freebie Fridays are my thing for sure they have books I may not have picked or even found or known snot on my own but there’s ZERO RISK so why not right?, and let me tell You I have enjoyed thoroughly they books they’ve given me so much so that I keep thinking about the characters in them over and over again!! I still have Audible but rarely if ever do I even open the app these days so if You’re on the fence about CHIRP just to the other side where the grass really is more green!!!

Overheating and Battery Drain
I’ve purchased many books through Chirp and love their deals, but lately whenever I use the app it causes my phone to overheat and quickly drains my battery. I’ve restarted my phone, closed all other apps, and changed setting to reduce other background refreshes, so know this app is the issue. This is a serious issue that needs to be fixed.

Only works on ipad
The app overheats an iphone. I contacted Chirp support & all they said was delete app, restart iphone & reload app. This was done numerous times & still overheated phone & used battery quickly. I contacted Apple. They checked phone, they said they can’t fix the app. They said I was noy the only one with this problem. My ipad has no connection to the internet and it does not overheat when using app. I suspect Chirp is checking your location for DRM purposes when using app on phone & doing this a lot. & I did not enable this on my phone.
