About
That occasional chirp is easy to hear and frustratingly hard to locate. ChirpFinder helps you track down the smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector making a repeating low-battery beep.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Tap Start Listening.
2. Wait while ChirpFinder listens for short, repeating detector-like chirps.
3. Walk from room to room after a repeating chirp is confirmed.
4. Follow the relative signal-strength indicator as each matching chirp gets louder.
The app moves through simple Far, Getting Closer, Close, and Very Close states. It also shows the latest chirp loudness, time since the previous chirp, confidence, and the number of matching sounds detected.
BUILT FOR INTERMITTENT CHIRPS
ChirpFinder does not announce a match after one random noise. It compares short high-frequency sounds and waits for similar chirps to repeat before confirming a likely sequence. This helps reduce matches from speech, music, appliance noise, keys, doors, and other household sounds.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Microphone audio is analyzed on your iPhone. Raw audio is never recorded, saved, or uploaded. There is no account, backend, or cloud audio processing.
ONE-TIME PURCHASE
Unlock ChirpFinder with one lifetime purchase. There is no subscription, recurring charge, trial, or automatic renewal.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE
ChirpFinder only helps locate repeating detector sounds. It does not test whether a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm is working, verify alarm safety, or identify an emergency. Always follow the detector manufacturer’s instructions and applicable emergency guidance.
