This game used to be so fun and have so much heart, beautiful artwork with interesting and captivating storylines. Now it has been reduced to soulless AI slop churning out empty “stories” just for profit. You developers should be ashamed of yourselves.
How about making the stories a bit more interesting
Although the multiple options to continue the stories are good, how about allowing the players to adapt and type in their own responses free of course. It would make the stories a bit more interesting.

I’ve been playing this game for almost a decade, the last 4 years the books are significantly less interesting. I can’t get through one chapter without falling asleep. It’s just not the same. I even bought vip on last time and even those books were no good.
There are better options out there
I have not played the game in years that anyone would struggle to believe I used to spend hours on this app. I stopped playing shortly after the game introduced the VIP system and I am not surprised that it turned into AI slop. There are better options out there, and this game is going to quickly fade into memory.

Every time I use the app on my iPhone I get a notification about an update and the app closes but I currently already have the most updated version so now I can never use the app because of this apparent update

I don’t know what’s going on with this app . By far this is the best app ever or it used to be . Literally every month it’s an issue and I have to reach out for help . It’s not synchon iOS and android so when I pay on android it says I’m not a vip member on iOS . I’m so frustrated !!!! Please do better

I feel like the developers of the game now is only really thinking of profit then a players actual enjoyment in its experience. It feels like a cash grab to with Tain the audiences attention.
Examples:
-10 ads +1 daily with keys as well being 6 ads when originally it was a 100 ads for diamonds. I understand you want profit from the game no mistake in that but 10 ads is a joke to those who put so much into the stories that shaped this app. It was like a shock to me personally because what the hell no diamonds were gifted when I started fresh like it usually do and having to wait months to continue a story because I’m having to save up to afford the choices I make, which is depressing when you clearly could of changed it to 50 instead of 10.
-Generative Ai it is killing me to be apart of this revolution that is taking over industries . I could say this to every app do not endorse something that is trending and damaging people’s livelihood . I want this game to come back it’s youth and it’s prime was comforting and right now the stories are depressing and feeling recycled and the MEN look constipated , where is the diversity because regardless of race they all look the same!
I enjoy this game but these are things that need to be sorted out or else you lose the community that brought this game to its success and that is heartbreaking. I really would like to add if anyone is reading this from the team to write a well scripted story for a Desire & Decorum book 4 where there is growth in marriage hosting balls and such that is close enough to its history because I really enjoy that series then most and the three books with the constant drama and the Christmas book just felt too short for their story . P.S I love u choices but take some action on what people are saying because it’s becoming a problem iykwim

Disappointing Habits and END AI
I’ve been playing Pixelberry games since Surviving High School. I’ve been playing Choices since the app only had 3 stories. I rarely write reviews but I am REALLY disappointed in what I’m seeing lately.
Something that always set Choices apart from apps like Episode is that it didn’t gatekeep chunks of story behind premium diamond choices. This is no longer the case. Newer books like Their Omega and Idol make it impossible to get to know the love interest and connect (or even experience the basic premise) without spending diamonds.
I get it- you need to make money. You need us to buy diamonds in order to make money. But NO player is going to purchase every single premium choice in every book. We all have to “choose” which ones we feel are worth picking. So if we see that we have to buy every single Diamond option to complete the basic story or romance, then we’re not going to buy ANY of them. Because what’s the point? It’s extremely frustrating to have all of these little 8, 10, 12 Diamond options. Because at that point the app shouldn’t be called choices, it should be called paywall.
The recent books have also been really sloppy in regards to correct gendering of characters and mc’s. Their Omega is only 8 chapters and yet I recall at least 2 instances of misgendering. I hope this doesn’t discourage you from making fewer male mc’s, because that’s what I play as when actually given the choice.
Please pixelberry, this app is getting unbearable to play without dropping ridiculous amounts of cash on diamonds. This is bad for business in the long run. It’s not making me want to pay more to play, it’s making me want to quit altogether.

What happened?!
I’ve used this app for years without any problems. The last few months have been horrible. At one point every time I clicked a book the screen would go completely white and I’d have to close the app and reopen it (which also did not always work) in an attempt to gain access.
While following their instructions & submitting screenshots (which went on for WEEKS), I had to repeat myself over and over and over again because they kept giving me the exact same “solutions” that did NOT work the first time.
I’ve had to get my game over written twice, I’m being inhibited in using the app due to some update that hasn’t appeared.
It takes forever to get to the bottom of every issue… they aren’t being very helpful and the last chat was literally this week and whoever was supposed to be helping me closed out the chat so that I couldn’t reply.
The so called update that I’ve been waiting a good while for hasn’t appeared but the alert won’t let me access the books and they don’t even have an estimate for when I could or would actually have access to the update.
I’m paying for a VIP membership and in the last few months I’ve hardly been able to use the app. This is bs. I just ended my subscription and unless some REAL changes are made I won’t be back.

Used to a great app
I have been a fan of choices since I was a teenager, back then unfortunately I couldn’t buy any premium options so I had to make do with the free options but the app has always had great stories. Especially the one I’m in now, Scream For Me, I just had to write a review after reading this book because I just went on the app and saw there was a part 2!! Too excited!! I’m literally about to get the VIP just to read on! This is only one favorite though. My only issue was that in this book when you go to choose your character and look the hairstyle on the cover isn’t one of the options, I was disappointed but I chose another that I came to love! But really, been reading for years and still amazing, now I spend too much money on diamonds to binge read! But it’s worth it!! Please keep up the good work Choices team!
Edit: I’ve changed my 4 star to 1 star, I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that a VIP story goes on hiatus right before the next scheduled update. No notices, no article, no explanation, no time frame given. It was the only reason I purchased the vip, but I tried to let it go in favor of reading something else in the meantime, but every story I went to because I liked the cover art, the available faces for the story didn’t even match the cover! What is wrong?? Nine of the old stories had this issue, the characters on the cover were the characters you were presented with to play in the book but not anymore. I went through too many stories with this problem

Perfect Match is incredible
I’ve honestly never read a better story. It was incredible on the sci-fi, morality, and also romance sides. Unfortunately I couldn’t change outfits the whole time without paying a fortune. There should have at least been cheap alternatives of dresses and such for events. Plus the choice for diamond options came up at least three times in each chapter and they were typically 30 which was too many. Overall though, fantastic storyline.
(Update: several years later - still remember this app. So sad to see it die by using AI. AI sucks!!! Hire artists with real skill!)
