Best in class

I love this app and use it regularly as I compose. I’ve tried a few chord finder apps - this one is my favorite.

Clean and effective

This is exactly what I was looking for. I needed an easy reference for creating guitar parts from piano music at church. I can build the chords with the keyboard, see the notes match the sheet music, then look for the guitar chord voicing that fits. A beautiful app that looks nice and does exactly what it’s meant to do. And for 1.99, you can have the guitar and the keyboard on the screen at the same time, well worth it.

I like it....... butttttttttttttttttttt

Please fix the bug where it just goes out of the app. Idk if this is just on apple products or what, but it does it on both iPad and iPhone. And it blocks out letters with a black rectangle.

Used to be great, but crashes all the time now.

I have used this app for a long time now. I have always loved it. However, it now crashes all the time. Usually I have to power down & reboot my IPad to just get out of the app.

Good for tenor banjo

I’ve played bluegrass, plectrum and tenor banjo-each with its own unique tuning. The tenor banjo section of this app is priceless! I have a vintage tenor banjo that now gives me twice as much joy to play as a result of using this app. As a jazz guitarist, I can’t wait to play around with all the chord inversions (I also have the Roy Smeck 4,400 guitar chord book somewhere???). Who knows? I might become the next Joe Pass!

Easily the best chord app for the iPad

This app is such an immense help in so many ways. If you are looking for a quick way to identify, locate, or hear any chord on your instrument I can’t recommend this enough. Even the free version is way better than the alternatives (paid ones included) but I can sincerely say that the full version of this is the best $1.99 I have ever spent - it is worth 10x that. Both writing and learning is so much easier with this app. The developer was also very kind and responsive when I ran into a minor problem. 5 stars all around.

Clefs?

Just got the app. Seems useful. I’m a brass player who has only used treble clef so it was disappointing to see that the default chords are written in bass clef. Can this be changed?

Update Needed

Please Update this app, for the upgrade made on the app, there are some features that do not work, such as the chord library dictionary for the piano where it has 1-7 sounds, also for each of the library dictionaries, there is no play or sound button. This app would be a million times better with those fixes.

Thanks

suggestion

this app is great !it would be great if we could drag a chord into a memory slot to able to organize a song progression checking both guitar and piano ✌️

It does just what I hoped it would

Back in the early Seventies, I made something like this in card index/IBM format out of cardboard. It was obviously very limited, and I dreamed of one day having some sort of computer program that might enable chord construction/deconstruction in this way. This is it!

Very usable

I have found it very usable in creating cords, I would like to suggest the ability to move the current cord up and down the neck more like a Guitarist would do. Also if the cord type icon could be reduced in size, you would not have to scroll as much to find the type of chord needed.

Intuitive!

I’m not really sure what to say about this app is it does what it says, very well. Very easy to follow layout the sound matches well, and helps with playing along the neck which I’ve struggled with. Great app!

Finally

I’m a professional songwriter. I write on piano and guitar. Finally there’s an app that can make it easy to move from piano to guitar and vise versa... fantastic!!!

Great app for musicians of every skill level.

I got this app to use as a reference for learning advanced chords. I haven't seen any other apps, even paid versions, that have anything near the chord dictionary that this one does (in the free version, too!). This app seems to have any viable chord one can think of on stringed instruments and keyboard. It is great for the advanced player looking to expand their chord vocabulary with extended chords and alterations, and it's good for a beginner too! 5/5, would recommend.
