Fixed.
The developer seems to have fixed the issue of pads being unresponsive sometimes. 5 star app now for sure. Quite beautiful GUIs on their apps also.
Shame about the UI
Some great functionality in this app, but for me it’s totally let down by the user interface, which just puts me off using it.
Chordjam
I’m very new to the app so it’s nice to see devs still improving it.
I just wanted to report that the inbuilt sound returns when changing presets, after having turned it off in settings.

Looses sync, looses sound, Randomizer work sometimes
Love your apps. This app has issues. Feel bad asking for a refund, but this is unusable. I’ll email you guys a video of the issue.
Mixes sharps and flats
I’m just now getting into it and didn’t want to give it a bad review. But did want to say that the key of C minor does not have a D# or G# in it, as this app seems to think. It has an Eb and an Ab. B# minor has a D# and a G# in it. I find this pretty annoying, kind of a speed bump, like misspelled words or bad grammar in prose. It can’t be a big deal to make the few flat keys and sharp keys display correctly. I wonder how confusing this could be for beginning musicians.

Free update
OMG! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Unbelievably cool free update. A real game changer for this tool.
Useful, with 20/20 vision
I got this app for the second time, initially having asked for a refund due to various issues, as part of a bundle. Much better experience this time around, and the app will be useful. I just wish the devs would redesign this - and their other - interfaces to something more useable. I am fortunate to see well and not need glasses, but anyone who has problem peepers will find the tiny controls awakward.

I think this is great
I like what this throws out and shows me. It’s a good learning tool and with some nice fx’d up auv3s on the prowl it can produce some fantastic accompaniments. Some of the criticism regarding the layout is understandable and I would add a note to the developers that a lot of people me included can’t be bothered to watch a video just to understand how to use something , we just want to use it and for it to be easy to get into.
Some designs understand this others in that very tech way seem to delight in going out of their way in almost saying this is only for people with a tech mind kind of deal…. I think halfway harry is good tbh. Great app and I love and have all your apps too, please keep going on this vibe.

Unable to change the sound
I thought this would be a cool way to write new songs and come up with new ideas. However, when I plug in my keyboard and play, I can’t change the tone of the sound at all. I’m stuck with this electronic sound that’s built into the app.
I wish that I could just hear the chords with a nice grand piano tone or something like that.
Other than that, I’m also frustrated that there are hardly any resources online that educate on how to use this app. I found one video on YouTube, but it was an hour long and the guy seemed hard to understand. I wish there was some sort of help for this app.
I’m a little bummed that I paid for it to be honest. I really wish I could change the sound.

Some good ideas but
Still haven’t gotten the hang of it. The workflow to find the chords is a bit weird in my opinion. mode. For example you can’t play a chord while it’s being edited. Meaning you can’t hear the changes you’re making unless you go out of the edit mode…!?
Most importantly, the standalone mode is completely broken as the midi out does not work as expected. It will only send midi notes when the sequencer is playing. Not when playing the pads manually. That means 1. You cannot select chords without their stock synth playing (which you cannot change) and 2. You cannot jam with chords once you’ve selected them. To send properly midi, you need to use the AUv mode in a host such as AUM…

Simply Amazing
Writers Block? Gone! Best jazz improvisationist in the world? Absol- ok, not quite. I set it up on AUM with Module Pro. Set my midi keyboard to Module Pro. Left hand hits Chordjam which needs only one finger to generate beautiful, complex, lyrical progressions while my right hand is having the best time of its life (better than even that)!
Seriously, I’ve been looking for a tool like this and I credit Sound Test Room for bringing it to my attention. Watch a quick tutorial and you’ll be wondering how you could have been writing music without this.
The chords use up to five voices which covers an immense range from simple to very complex but each chord is always musical

Flawed Concept
The interaction between the scale and chord type makes no sense. The app makes it impossible to produce some basic chords, and user chords are not supported. For triad people, it’s a clever and useful app. For jazz and modern composition it imposes some irritating limits on your chord options. The structure for choosing chords is not likely to be improved without a major rethink of the core concept. UPDATE: yes, I watched the tutorial vids and I fully stand by my original review.

I give up
I really wanted this app to work but it just doesn’t. It took awhile to figure out how it works but it still does things that don’t make sense, like playing notes that aren’t in your chosen key. I feel like I’ve wasted a week with something that’s not finished.
Response from developer
Hi, please make sure you have read the manual and/or watched our complete walkthrough on our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/yDVt62jR5c0 . Chordjam can get really deep especially on the sequencer section, and if you still have any questions we’re here to help you out: https://audiomodern.zendesk.com/hc/en-us
Very hard to use
Controls are very small and have cryptic symbols on them with no explanation of what they mean. Because of how small everything is, you have to tap five times on anything to get at least a single tap registered.
There goes the weekend…
Bought this after being impressed by the (free!) Filterstep. Great loss leader you have there guys. Reasonably priced, sounds good, and will help my shaky music theory. Will take some time to learn to get the best out of it. But that’s not really a downside.
Brilliant
I’ve been using Chord Jam all week. It is brilliant. My Korg Nano-Key Studio has been transformed as a songwriting tool. The timing and velocity controls give such a human feel especially to orchestral sounds. Thanks.
iOS user
Wanted to love this but it’s not auv3 it’s inter app audio. Thumbs down.
Can’t export MIDI files
This is a dope app!!! Love everything about it, the chord voicing and and strumming control is crazy! The sequence mode makes this app a sure rival of Scaler 2, but if I can’t export MIDI files, it is useless!
Next Level
This app is on an entirely different level from anything out there that attempts to generate chords progressions. Great job AudioModern. Beautifully laid out and so much fun to use.
Much and so much potential
The first iteration of this app is a step up from anything in the IOS environment at the time of writing . It’s refreshing .The algorithms within the app facilitate coherent musical harmony and progression of ideas and invite exploration and so facilitate creativity, 1000% recommended ....you acutely need this if your music theory is 0 or weak 🙏🙏🏿👏👍🎩🦄.
