Wonderful

I love being able to watch and listen to speakers and events that I couldn't attend in person - and re-live events that I could. This app also kept me sane and connected to Chautauqua during the depths of the pandemic.

Connection .

For 20 plus years ,I have had the joy of experiencing a season at chautauqua. Nothing could be better. When I was introduced the first time,I described it as heaven on earth. The Chautauqua Assembly has helped me through the Covid 19 months ,enabling me to have faith that the modernization that is being used will enable the chautauqua experience to be available far and wide. I gave up one star because to be in person at chautauqua gets the 5 stars. Gratefully,Meg Lay.

Keep the learning coming!

So wonderful to be able to enjoy the programming even after we had to return home! App works well, but does sometimes take a while to load a past program. Worth it!!

Nits and such

1. Too hard to find presentations.

2. Each presentation ought to have a short, printable, abstract.

3. Each presentation, including Q & A, should have a printable copy of the spoken words… i.e.: formatted and properly spelled captions.

4. Graphics used by presenters ought to be presented at the appropriate spot in the presentation.

5. Everything should be downloadable and able to be distributed by authorized content purchasers.

Locked out

I bought the subscription. I have the app. I’ve been watching interesting presentations. Suddenly hoping to see Raskin, I’m locked out with incomprehensible instructions about making sure I’m signed in on my web browser.

What the heck!

The heart

Dr. Sandeep Jauhar spoke eloquently about the heart. He helped me understand a lot of things about my own heart condition which I had not understood before, mainly, the emotional connection to the physical illness. I listened to him talk and all these pieces fell into place and I have a calmness I have not had for 20 years.
This is just one of the many incredibly positive experiences I’ve had listening to the Premier quality speakers who are drawn to Chautauqua.
This season, with an ever expanding belief on the part of those who run Chautauqua that the institution needs and wants to be available to as many people as possible, is so encouraging to me and says so much about the quality of the decision makers at Chautauqua.
I am personally incredibly grateful. I am a friend of Jim and Judy Moffitt and it is they who first introduced me to Chautauqua two or three decades ago but I have never before been able to virtually join so many of the programs available and learn and be comforted and guided by all the information that previously has been available to only the people at Chautauqua. Bless the decision makers for the emphasis on diversity and the way those of us who are not physically present are being included.
Most gratefully, Susan Rau Stocker

Enjoy every event!!

I leave each event with information, and appreciation for your Institution.

A community for those who cannot learn enough.

Thanks

Belonging from afar!

I recently joined Assembly because I was interested in hearing Katherine May’s presentation on August 5.

I found there was a plethora of other lectures and presentations that I could tap into all the way from my home in Wisconsin.

Looking forward to being a part of Chautauqua from afar.

Chautauqua from afar

Thank you for Chautauqua Assembly. I have access to one of my favorite places on earth, even when I cannot be there in person. Chautauqua continues to challenge me with world renowned speakers and preachers.

CHQ Assembly has scratched an itch

Since we haven't been able to visit Chautauqua for the last several years, we really missed being there. Well, we're still not able to travel, but we have been able to enjoy our virtual visits. The best $50 we've spent in a long time!

Suggestions

Todays morning lecture periodically did a rewind loop that never did allow me to hear the end.
The heartbreak of cutting off the afternoons question and answers is a terrible loss as those are often the most normative times.
Is there a reason for doing that?

Assembly app

Fabulous innovation increasing your audience awareness and participation in exploring though issues that unite and separate us as a country & our geopolitical responsibility in this global cosmos that we breathe and dance in!

Not like last year!

We are interested in the performing arts content on this app. Unfortunately there has been only one Chautauqua Symphony (CSO)concert as of this date and they haven’t been showing any of the Music School Festival Orchestra (MSFO) concerts. I must assume that all the MSFO concerts, chamber music recitals, and master classes will not be videoed for the app. What am I paying for? The description about the app lead to believe all these things would be included. I am not interested in the lecture content. Very “clunky” app also. Not many features for the brain power at Chautauqua Institution!

An on-site Ted Talk from a century-old American tradition

Phenomenal sharing of ideas from top culture-leaders.

The best thing since the Boulder year-round Chautauqua. Much more affordable than paying the gate/parking fees.I don’t like the fact that there are time limits on accessing the lectures/performances though. If only this technology were available to Boulder, that would be the best.

I am very pleased with your streaming performance. It is much improved over last season. I have seen 40+ events. Thank you so much for the portal. I would certainly be willing to pay more for it.
Hopefully, next season will be contagion-free.

Chautauqua Assembly

Generally good means to view a variety of speakers, services, concerts. Many are only able to be viewed live. Very few conservative viewpoints expressed. Ability to view recorded after live event should be stated on the website and in automatic reminder emails.
Small choir sounds very poorly during amp worship services. How to present choral singing really needs to be looked at. Organ sounds great. Suggest use of overhead camera on organ not just view of Josh’s back. Thank you for trying to go digital.

Boo

Can’t get rid of it.

CHQ Assembly

I love being able to be part of the Chautauqua experience even when I’m not there. Being able to listen to lectures and entertainment year round is a privilege. This summer,I will be on the grounds for two weeks, but will enjoy the entire 9 week summer session from home. Thank you CHQ Institute for making this happen!

You Are There

I live in Las Vegas now and I won’t be able to make it to the lake this year, so the CHQ app lets me visit the grounds every morning. As always, some speakers are better than others, but I’m right in the Amp there with you. And that makes me very happy. Keep up the good work!
