About

CHQ Calendar is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Chautauqua Institution. Event information is drawn from publicly posted listings; chq.org remains the authoritative source. Planning a day on the grounds shouldn't take longer than the day itself. CHQ Calendar puts the whole Chautauqua season in one place, then helps you act on it — reminders for what you've starred, a plan for your day, and a map to get there. NEVER MISS WHAT YOU STARRED • Star an event to get a reminder — 30 minutes before, 1 hour before, or the night before • Set a default reminder timing once, or override it per event • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show what's next on the grounds, or just your starred events • Widgets are configurable by venue, category, or starred-only PLAN YOUR DAY • My Day lays your starred events out on a timeline • Flags schedule overlaps and tight walking gaps between venues • Updates automatically as you star or unstar events FIND YOUR WAY • Every venue on the grounds plotted on a map • Tap a venue for its next events and walking directions • Jump to the map from any event's detail screen • No location permission required BROWSE THE SEASON • Every event of the season, grouped by day • A day rail above the list jumps you straight to any day, growing as you reach its edges • Filter by category, venue, and week; search by name, venue, or presenter • Full event details, including linked Chautauquan Daily articles • Save favorites so you don't lose track of what you can't miss WORKS EVERYWHERE • Events you've already loaded stay readable offline • Built for both iPhone and iPad • Ask Siri — say “Chautauqua” and ask what’s next, what’s on tonight, who’s speaking, this week’s theme, or to show you a day • Find events instantly from system-wide Spotlight search • Quick links to Chautauqua’s own services, including live captioning for attendees who are deaf or hard of hearing • Off-season, see a countdown to next season, browse announced events, and revisit past seasons No account. No ads. No third-party trackers. Your filters, favorites, and reminders stay on your device. Event information comes from publicly posted Chautauqua Institution listings and from local organizations that publish their own events. For ticketing, official announcements, and the last word on any event, visit chq.org.

What's New in ChqCalendar

1.1.3

August 25, 2026

Version 1.1.3 is about moving through the season. A DAY AT A TIME • A day rail sits above the events list — tap any day to jump straight to it • Step a day at a time with the chevrons, or tap ⟳ Now to come back to today • The list grows as you reach its edges instead of stopping at the end • Each day names how many events it holds, so an empty day is visible before you tap it ASK FOR A DAY • “Show me tomorrow in Chautauqua” now opens the app on tomorrow • Siri and the day rail land in exactly the same place ACCESSIBILITY • The Filters button no longer clips its label at the largest text sizes
