Terrible
I don’t understand how a corporation like this can’t build a functioning app. This was recently redesigned and it’s still doesn’t work. I literally can build one better and I do construction. Just call in your order like it’s the 90s
Fake promo, horrible app
The only reason I was able to place an order was because I was determined to get the BOGO burrito day deal. I tried many times and even I placed, got the email confirmation but the app was stuck on the placing order screen. Absolutely horrible experience.
That’s not all. When I get to the store to pick up, there was no BOGO. Server said I placed the order incorrectly, shrugged saying he was busy with a long line and did absolutely nothing to solve my problem.
Bad app, bad promo, bad business.

Easy to use
This app was very easy to use. I also got a free taco offer for signing up. It’s cheaper to order off the app then ordering from uber eats
Both app & website will not allow you to checkout
Both app & website will not allow you to checkout with items in your cart. Frustrating for you those who want to order ahead because it means they are unable to do so
Apple Pay is Broken
I would have given the app 4 stars but because Apple Pay was broken, I had to use my credit card information instead. I like convenience, but if I’m going to get blue-balled on it, then that’s a huge turn-off. You guys need to fix the Apple Pay asap!
Also, not sure if it was the particular restaurant or the app itself, but I made an order thru the app and it never reached to the restaurant so I had to wait another 15 mins on top of the 15 that the app said it would take for the order to be ready for pickup.
Please fix it all.

A Nightmare User Experience
This is, without question, one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. I can’t recall being more frustrated with a user experience. And to be fair, the app isn’t the only issue—the website is just as bad. It took me over 10 attempts to place a single order. As a software engineer, I’m no stranger to technology, but this experience was absolutely dreadful.
The website doesn’t work properly on either Chrome or Safari, and the app performs no better. I repeatedly encountered conflicting messages—one moment my email was supposedly already linked to an account, and the next, I was told the same email wasn’t found in their database when trying to reset my password. Their authentication system seems completely broken. After spending more than 30 minutes trying to link a purchase to my account, I finally gave up.
Even basic functionality like paying with Apple Pay was a disaster. The Apple Pay modal would briefly appear, fail within two seconds, and then dismiss itself—every single time. It didn’t even process the payments; it felt as though something on their end was fundamentally broken. Features that should “just work”—like Apple’s built-in auto-fill for names, emails, and credit card details—were either entirely absent or implemented so poorly that they were effectively unusable.
It’s painfully clear that this app was not built with care or attention to detail. If this company insists on cutting corners by hiring subpar developers or relying on non-native platforms like Flutter or React Native, they should at least ensure that basic functionality works as expected. Instead, they’ve delivered an app and website that are both nearly impossible to use. The result of their cost-cutting is a truly awful experience for users. I wouldn’t recommend this app—or their website—to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

Bugs and poor usability
This app has a few problems. All in all I wasted about 25 minutes fiddling with this app’s shortcomings and I rate it as one of the worst apps I’ve used. Tech should work for people, not the other way around.
Specific problems I ran into:
1) While using the app to place a single (fairly large) order, I received the “Updating cart” message and it spun indefinitely such that I had to force quit the app.
2) When starting the app after a force quit (see previous complaint), the cart is not visible until you select a location…but I didn’t know that and so, when I saw no cart available, it led me to believe it had deleted my order entirely as a result of force quitting.
3) The location from which I was ordering has whipped orange drink available, but the app does now allow a person to order whipped orange drink - it only shows regular fountain drink and horchata, so I had to type a note that said something to the effect of “I don’t actually want horchata, I want whipped orange instead”. Time consuming and confusing.
5) After I had entered payment information, I decided to add order notes (see previous bullet point) and, after doing so, it lost my payment information so I had to re-enter it. Time consuming.
6) After adding things to the cart, if you modify those things, it re-sorts the list of items in the cart which causes a person to lose track of whose order belongs to whom. For a minute, I thought that the sort was actually random every time I looked at the cart, which was enraging. But now I think it sorts my last modified time descending, which sorta makes sense but I think it should sort by creation time ascending since that’s the sequence in which I added to the cart. Either fix that or just allow names for line items like the Chipotle app does.
5) When I first registered my email address, I didn’t receive my confirmation email at all (yes, I checked my junk mail box) which means I couldn’t submit my order at all on the first day I tried to use the app. It worked on the second day.

Glitchy waste of time
Don’t use this unless you want a headache that lasts for the rest of the day
I have had a web acct forever but the app NEVER works
Every time there’s a special, I’m supposed to use the app…. But lo and behold the app NEVER EVER works!! I’m going to Miguel’s Jr. Fix your app, this isn’t rocket science
This app is terrible
Hardly ever works. Won’t recognize stores. Won’t take payment. When it says it took payment I go into the store and they never received the order. If you try to restart the app it empties your cart and you have to start over. Makes me eat here far less often.
I hate this app!!
We go to Chronic about once a month and I have to use the app because the wait is long at the restaurant. This app is such trash! I try to reorder and it says there is an error not logged in—but it just found the previous order so I’m already logged in. Grrrrr! It’s so annoying. Please fix this horrible app.

This app is terrible
I am not a good enough writer to properly express how frustrating this app is. Nothing works right. Just go into the store and order in person—or order from Chipotle instead. Their app isn’t great but it’s better than this trash. Oh, also, the privacy label is a lie. It says the developer does not collect any data from this app, but of course it does. You have to create an account with your phone number and email address to even use it.

No order placed after it says that I made two orders.
So I tried to order my food through the app and when I got the payment it just sat on the processing screen and didn’t update then it refreshed the page with no confirmation about my order being placed. Looked into my orders and it says that I placed two orders at the same time on the same date. If I have two charges on my bank account I will be filing for a refund. Hopefully they would honor that.

Great Tacos. Awful App
I love this place but the app is horrible. Doesn’t even work anymore, just says server error.
Just copy the Chipotle app
The developer needs to take notes from Chipotle. This app is not user friendly at all. I’m a big Chronic Taco fan but this app makes me not want to order from them. Apps are suppose to make things convenient, not frustrating. I promise Chronic is losing money by not having a user friendly on-line ordering system or app.
