Hopeless app.

Update for Sept. 25, 2025 - zero updates. Still a dreadful app.

Best to find a different online trading platform.

As of June 23, 2025, the trading app has not at all improved in functionality, and has been a huge step backwards from Virtual Brokers (of a few years ago now).

Terrible App that’s currently blocking trading due to a nonexistent form I’m supposed to sign, but it’s actually a bug… that’s blocking trading.

FML this is a terrible platform.

Old previous review:

Can’t view a 1 day chart, can’t view trading volume, hard-ish look to use and not intuitive.

The app was WAY better before Virtual Brokers became CI Direct.

Worst user interface

I am trading on many different platforms with my investment accounts, including CI Direct Trading. This one is by far the worst. I was migrated to this platform when they bought Virtual Traders, which by the way had the best user interface from my experience. They still allowed using legacy platform for a while, which is why I didn’t care too much. But last week they shut down the legacy platform forcing me to use this one, and the experience is horrible. I am taking specifically about their website, not the app, but I am sure the app is the same. The biggest inconvenience is inability to see real-time balances for each position based on the current price. All other platforms have this basic feature, so I have no idea why this one doesn’t. I am seriously considering closing my account with CI Direct because if this. I wish they scrapped their horrible interface and kept the one from Virtual Brokers.

Worst trading app in existence.

Stay far away.

Terrible user experience

If they want customers to have faith in their products, they should provide an experience with the most basis functionality, like Face ID. Fix your app!

Horrendous App

This app is horrendous.

Prices and holdings never update correctly even hour after market close.

Its likely the worst trading app ever created.

Chronically Poor Usability

The app has always been buggy. It would sporadically ask for password and 2FC codes even though TouchID/FaceID is enabled. After a recent update, biometrics login seemed to have stopped working altogether.

The app’s order placement functionality is janky.

I’m moving away from CI partly because its mobile experience is embarrassingly bad.

Login using Face ID does NOT work

Login is such an essential functionality for a mobile app. But the app can’t get faceID to work properly! It always says faceID failed and then goes back to password AND text message code. So annoying!!

Poor app

Need an upgrade big time !!

For years been poor

Since last update can’t use Face ID always asks for new code process .
App can’t find info for stocks I have in my profile .
No way to bulk clear messages .
Stocks in my profile show updated time but their still not accurate.

App almost unusable

Errors when trying to login. If actually do login, if I look up a quote for a stock, it gives more errors. Everything I try to do gives me an error. Used to work fine, what the heck happened?

Barely even useable.

App just updated and can’t log in on iPhone. Basically zero quality control on the app and website.

The older supported version of the app.. forces you to update to the newest version.

Utilitarian at best.

I agree with others than the app is OK at best.

My biggest complaint is that one cannot do a currency exchange on the app. Frustrating and wishing for the old system.
