• now actively being improved!
NOTE: The default search city or zip code can now be locally stored in the app’s Location setting on the Account tab (even if one has not yet created an account)! Yes!!!
February 2022
This app is actively being updated currently, and is now, relatively speaking, much, much, much better!
Wow. Our hopes were not misplaced after all! This app is now usable, and useful!
Four stars for continuing good effort, substantial progress, actual usability, and still supporting iOS 12!
Good work!
Continuing Issues:
- On the Account tab, opening About/Contact Us, oddly and consistently, still causes the app to crash after a moment (iPhone 5s, iOS 12). Oops. (Workaround: There is generally sufficient time to quickly take a screenshot of that page in the app, so one can manage to read it from the screenshot.)
- This app has not yet implemented Sign In with Apple, which Apple Store policy now requires it to do, as long as the app continues to allow for Google and/or Facebook sign-in. (Apple will stop approving updates to this app as soon as they realize, notice, or are told they’ve made an oversight in this regard for this app. However, we here are not going to be the users to report this to Apple this time.)
- Various other UX issues and bugs which a decent QA tester would uncover in a few minutes; but none we’ve found yet that actually prevent users from more or less managing to currently use the app for its intended functions.
Now Improved (Yea!):
- For _film search_, this app’s implementation for enabling the app to distinguish between location zip codes and cities as opposed to movie titles, etc., in its search fields, has quite improved. For _theatre search_, it is still a bit crude; yet probably sufficiently functional in practice for most purposes.
Previously Fixed Issues (Yea!):
- auto-play of videos, with sound on, on app launch (this obnoxiousness is new, in such a bad way, that it will drive users to delete/avoid using this app)
- frequent, serious scrolling issues (!) in parts of the app — sometimes won’t even scroll at all
- frequently and repeatedly badgers user to sign in
- frequently and repeatedly badgers user to turn on location services, and/or enter a search location, even after a zip code has been previously entered (and even while it yet still appears in the search field!)
- does not retain preferred search location for current app session, much less between separate app sessions
- does not locally retain any preferences or favorites at all without sign in (which most competing apps readily do)
- etc.
Previously (2021):
due to issues, app is unfriendly, discourages the user from even considering signing in, and pushes the user to instead employ other means to regularly check movie times, etc.
app is presently sub-standard for its purpose, inconvenient, and unintentionally user hostile
Three stars, but only in appreciation that someone now appears to finally be actively working on this app. So, perhaps there is hope?

No longer works
Please fix your app. It no longer works. :-/
Bomb Bomb Bombs
It like the Cine Life streams immensely! But I have to use the website. The app consistently bombs, even after deleting and reinstalling, making it worthless.
App is dysfunctional
App was working fine two days ago. Now it keeps crashing when you launch the CineLife app. *sad face*
Can not download
Can not download program because it doesn’t recognize the input format for the email and password - no problem with every other app we download.
