not useful
Response from developer
It is quite disappointing to see a 1-star review claiming the app is "misleading" over a misunderstanding of what it does. Cinemeet is a platform to connect moviegoers, not an automated live showtime provider. Organizers simply pick a film and a venue to coordinate with other cinephiles. Hundreds of successful cinema meetups have already taken place this way. Leaving a 1-star review does not do justice to the community or the platform
Bad distance locating
Response from developer
The distance we show is calculated from real device location, not from the city written on someone's profile. Those two are separate: the city is something each member fills in themselves, so it's usually their home town. If they're travelling or on holiday, their profile still says "Los Angeles, CA" while the distance reflects how far away they actually are from you right now. That's why a profile can correctly read "31 miles away" and still mention a city in another state, and why your distance setting is being applied to the 31 miles, not to the city name. Also, please get in touch at info@cinemeet.app and tell me roughly which area you're in plus one of the profiles you ran into, I'll reproduce it and dig in properly.
🤷

We’d love to help you fix this right away. Could you try reinstalling the app? If it still doesn't open, please send us a quick email at info@cinemeet.app with your device model and OS version so we can investigate immediately.
Interesting idea

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Great news: we’ve just released version 1.1.43, which addresses these exact points. We’ve updated our localization with proper measurement units and US time formatting (12-hour AM/PM support), alongside fixes for time zones so future scheduling works seamlessly. Please update to the latest build and give it another shot!
