Great concept but..
I really love this idea. But here would be one thing that would make this app much better. And that would be to enable event invitations to be opened by those without a circles account and without the app installed (perhaps a webpage).
I’d love to start using this with my friends to organize activities, but from where I’m starting, to even try it out, I now have to convince all of my friends to download an app if they want to be invited, which is a tough sell.
My recommendation would be to make this application system usable by non-app holders. Once they interact with the non-app interface enough, they will naturally opt to download the app instead.

Really interesting idea
I really like the idea that you can post an event on the map for friends to join. The UI is clean and so much better than the Facebook event.
