Cirulla

Cirulla is the card game of the Ligurian coast, a cousin of Scopa played with forty cards. Capture the table cards that match your card or add up to fifteen, sweep the table for a scopa, and if your three cards total nine or less, declare a buona before you play. Cirulla for iPhone plays the game the way it is played in Liguria, against the computer. THE RULES AS THEY ARE PLAYED • Captures by equal value, by sum, or by sum to 15 • The Ace takes the whole table, unless an Ace is already there • The 7 of hearts is the matta: when it lets you declare, you choose its value • An opening table of 15 or 30 goes to the dealer, as one or two scope • Secret declarations, never prompted: buona (three cards totalling nine or less, worth 3) and cirulla (three of a kind, worth 10). Spot them yourself and triple-tap the table. • Full scoring after every hand: cards, diamonds, settebello, primiera, grande, piccola, scope and declarations HOUSE RULES, EACH ONE OPTIONAL • Cappotto: all ten diamonds in one hand win the match outright • Scciupon de fotta: a scopa made with the very last card does not count • A monte: two or more Aces among the opening table cards void the deal (the matta counts as an Ace) • Four of a kind on the opening table wins the match for the dealer THREE OPPONENTS Easy plays simply. Medium looks a move ahead. Hard deals out the unseen cards many times over and plays every option to the end of the hand before it chooses. MADE FOR THE PHONE • Matches to 31, 51 or 101 points; your game saves itself after every move • Tap a card or drag it onto the table to play; capture hints you can turn off • Two app icons to choose from • VoiceOver, Dynamic Type and Reduce Motion supported • In English and Italian • No ads, no accounts, no data collected, nothing to buy. Everything stays on your iPhone.
