Optimized?
Yes this app is highly optimized but not for users. It is constantly trying to sell you premium by locking features behind pay walls. If I wanted to stare at ads I would read an article online.
Useless
Useless unless you pay for Premium. They make it seem like it’s “free” by not charging for the app; however, it’s useless unless you upgrade to Premium.
Why
Opening the app now brings up video on auto play first. When something happens the FIRST thing I want to see is where it is compared to my location, not shaking video of a smoke plume 1/2 a mile away by someone that has no clue what is happening.

Exactly the title, was the most utterly tedious, predatory, irritating sign up process possible. And when i hit the week free trial FOR FREE instead of the 30 day trial for 1.99. They proceeded to charge my card 21.63 for wht i can only presume is a 19.99 charge? Which i was given zero inkling as to why itd be that amount OR CHARGE ME FOR A TRIAL.
If this pending charge goes thru, i will be disputing and pointing this app towards apple app store support for blatantly illegal financial policies within the app.
Do not download this trash, get one that does the exact same thing and doesnt do predatory corpo practices.

Terrible updates
I swear this app continues to get progressively worse with every update. The annoying Verified number ticker is the worst. I turned off precise location and notifications. So glad I don’t pay for this shih.

I swear this app just continues to get progressively worse with every update from the annoying Verified, the new chat scrolling and now this half video that doesn’t let you view the single one but a split screen of another. So glad I don’t pay for this shih.

Requires precise location
I don’t trust apps that require precise location and always on to work. Do better.
Citizen: get the racism under control!!
Updated to add: guys, you’re not Twitch. Don’t turn the comments section of every single report into a forever chat. The chat format already functions poorly and makes it difficult for people to engage in real dialogue with each other, and the updates to force all comments sections to permanent chats are buggy as hell. No reason to show the comment count of an alert when it’s just a chat you can barely view before it resets anyway 🙄
love this app, and have for years. I happily subscribe for full access. But this has to be addressed, it’s gotten so out of control: hateful, racist comments flood every single comments section for the last 12 months or so. On top of that, users are able to create usernames with well-known slurs
Citizen, if you want to be taken seriously as a company and a product, you HAVE to hire a robust, dedicated team to monitor the comments. And you need to make it impossible to add slurs to a username or comment
This is such a disappointing turn for the app, and ultimately it can’t be good for your bottom line. Please fix it so I can give you 5 stars again!

Dissappearing, old and irrelevant reports
Messages pop up and dissappear before I can read them. Messages that are not current crowd the app.🤷♀️

I think it defeats the entire purpose of this app to make citizens go live to report something there was multiple shots in the back alley where I live and cops don’t really respond to I wanted to send an alert out to my neighbors know and I am unable to do that unless I live stream LIVE STREAM WHAT THE BLACK ALLEY???

If I want premium I’ll buy it if I want notifications on I’ll put it on annoying my screens full of notifications I can’t get rid of

This app used to be good, until they decided to vibecode the UI and turned it into a useless slop interface that pushes Republican ads. Deleted!
