About

Citizen's Daily Brief is a daily intelligence assessment for the public, modeled on the structure intelligence agencies use to brief decision-makers. Every morning, Monday through Saturday, it delivers five to nine assessed items — a clear read on what actually changed and what it means. Read them, or listen on your commute. Reporting today is as good as it has ever been. What's missing for most people is the layer above it: the synthesis that says "here is what it all adds up to, and here is how confident we are." Citizen's Daily Brief is that layer. EACH ITEM ANSWERS FOUR QUESTIONS • What changed • Why it matters • What to watch next • How confident we are, and how much the sources agree TRUST SIGNALS YOU CAN SEE Every item carries two signals. Confidence (high, moderate, or developing) reflects how solid the picture is. Agreement (broad, mixed, or disputed) reflects how much the sources line up. Both are cross-checked against the actual sources before publication, so a single-source story cannot be dressed up as settled fact. SHOW YOUR WORK Open any item to see the evidence behind it: the sources, the common ground, the open questions, and how the story developed over time. Most news products hide the process. We made it the product. LISTEN, HANDS-FREE Every brief can be narrated aloud with full Lock Screen and Control Center controls, so you can take the morning assessment on a commute or a run. A Live Activity shows now-playing progress right on your Lock Screen. NEVER MISS THE MORNING BRIEF Turn on notifications to get the daily brief, the Sunday assessment, and breaking dossier filings the moment they publish. Briefs you've opened stay readable offline, and recent briefs are searchable from Spotlight. A WEEKLY ASSESSMENT Every Sunday, a longer assessment steps back from the daily flow to trace the threads that matter over a longer horizon. FREE, FOR EVERYONE The brief is free. No ads. No account required. No personalization and no algorithm, so everyone sees the same brief. If you find it valuable, you can support the work voluntarily, the way you might support a public library or a nonprofit newsroom. Nothing is locked behind payment. OPEN METHODOLOGY The pipeline is automated and the method is published. You can read exactly how items are selected, scored, and assessed, and how the trust signals are calculated. Read it in the app under Methodology, or at citizensdailybrief.org. Citizen's Daily Brief is a Stalefish Labs project.
