About

The CivicAlert project links community engagement with advanced technology to address gun violence. Using a network of inexpensive, resident-hosted acoustic sensors, this system provides a scalable, community-controlled solution for detecting and localizing illegal gunfire, empowering residents with real-time information, improving safety, fostering peace of mind, and providing more accurate information about imminent threats in your area. This companion app can be used to manage any CivicAlert devices that you own or to sign up for and receive alerts about potential safety incidents in your area. Note that the app itself DOES NOT represent any government entity, but rather assists you in determining if a threat exists in your area and provides relevant information to help you make an informed decision.
