I'm a part-time AAC user - this is my backup voice. I would be confident using this full time.
This is a really good system. The phrases that are pre- loaded are set up assuming that you are going to be interacting with the world. Everything from ordering coffee to banking to chatting to friends. The categories can be edited in this version, which works great for additional phrases that you want ready to go. It's good to get a word-based system - if you work mainly in words, some of the symbol based setups can be overloading. This works really well for me, and I'm going to be recommending it to others.
It assumes that you are a competent adult, can be used professionally, and might make a huge difference for a lot of people.
It would be nice to have more customisable voice options in future, but it's pretty good as it is.
Updated review 27th August: It's now possible to purchase additional voices within the app! Super-cool! I now sound a bit more like "me" when using it! Yay!
Updated again: It’s now behaving perfectly, just as before. It’s even remembered all my settings and phrases, no re-programming required! It just needed to catch up with the updates, and is now ready to go! It’s a great boost in confidence when I’m out traveling around and doing stuff to know that if I need to switch to AAC, it’s there, ready to use, and it covers everything I need. Have continued to recommend this to everyone.
