Excellent
Few make reading and listening this easy. Well done Claro!
Honestly the best, BUT…
I have a learning disability and needed a Reader app that can do text to speech (TTS) AND allow for pdf annotations and ClaroPDF does the job in a visually pleasing manner with ease of use. My learning disability requires both the visual and audio which other apps now do, but ClaroPDF annotation capabilities is the icing on the cake. The ClaroPDF free version worked very well, so I upgraded to this paid version for the added OCR and iCloud sync. Unfortunately, this app is NOT well maintained and often crashes or stops if the device changes position (ie if I put my iPad down). In addition, the voices on the app are decent, but behind the times. I wouldn’t mind purchasing upgraded voices like the ones used on Speechify or ElevenLabs. I still believe that this is the absolute best app I have EVER used to read books, but my need for a stable app that doesn’t randomly crash, stop audio with device position change, and lack of higher quality voices leads me to seek out other App options, thus the 1 ⭐️ rating grade. Fortunately, the changes mentions are not a significant ask and believe YOU, the creator, can simply maintain and improve ClaroPDF. YOU CAN DO IT!!! I hope the potential for added income generated by better voices encourages your organization to invest some resources on this incredible app. I will be more than happy to update my review once YOU update the app.

Excelente herramienta
Mejor opción para escuchar audiolibros
The best PDF reader by far.
Though I have multiple PDF readers/editors on my system, I prefer using ClaroPDF Pro on my iPad. Its unique feature of allowing users to modify the PDF background color stands out. Many advanced PDF readers only provide sepia and black/white options, which inadvertently alters the colors of images, graphs, and annotations—a completely undesirable effect. In contrast, Claro lets you pick any background color from the palette while preserving the original colors of images, graphs, and annotations. It's the ideal choice for those who experience eye strain from extensive reading but still want to enjoy the process of note-taking.

Love this app
I was trying to find an app to use on my TD Pilot to read my packets for my certification training. I have Claro Read SE on my I16, so I wanted something similar. Love the app already.

Vielen Dank SN

Sticks app in portrait mode
No, no, no why would you do that!!! I use the app to read science research papers, to be in anyway readable I have to turn the phone to landscape mode. If you confine the app to portrait mode it will be unusable to me.
I will not be updating until you roll that back.
What numpty came up with that idea? Do you even consider asking your users how they actually use the app.
I am seriously not happy, I use the App every day, and this mod will scupper me!!

App is crashing
Hi,
I am a long-time user of this app. I have been using this app since 2014. I noticed that the recent software update is making the app crash all the time. I open a document and tap on a spot (for it to start reading) then the app crashes. This is happening over and over again. I am not sure why, because this app used to work very well earlier. Can you please fix this?

Not bad
Works and uses given credits to convert to speech, can’t see how much credit but going by research it might be 5000 which should last me a while, can’t put on auto replay which is inconvenient to me as I wanted to replay to learn
Weak player controls and consistency
Been using the free version and paid version of this program the last three months of this term as a student in a healthcare program
- I upgraded to the paid version hoping for better stability (free version kept freezing entirely and have to restart program), settings, and voice options but really I have not noticed any great value and regret spending the money. It doesn’t freeze up at least. You also get a few more voice options of which still don’t sound that great (Tessa English (South Africa) has been the best so far and is one of the free voices). It also seems that I can adjust the readback speed in the paid version while in the free version when you adjust the speed it just goes back to where it was originally. Having a slider is really frustrating when trying to make slight adjustments. Having a feature to type exactly how many words per minute I want as well would be a great addition!
- I’ve selected some of the pay for voices and getting to listen to them more than just for a short sentence I’m realizing I don’t like them but have not figured out how to return them so I can maybe select some thing else.
- There’s no pause feature. Only start and stop. So if it stops you have to try and figure out where you left off last.
- The reader will stop if you tilt your phone and the screen orientation changes. So you have to lock orientation. If you open up any other page or even the settings screen to lock orientation on an iPhone it will stop. Enabling “read in background” setting helps but it still is finicky.
- There are two features both labeled as “speak on tap” under controls. I’m guessing the second one is supposed to be stop on tap and disabled it because it was obnoxious that anytime you even accidentally touched the screen it’ll stop and you have to find your spot again.
- It stalls out. Even the paid version will just stop reading without reason. Of course, then you have look at your phone to try and figure out where you were which is not easy.
- Trying to get the reader to start where you want on tap can be frustrating. Sometimes I have to tap a spot a few times before it’ll get the idea. In the meantime, either nothing will happen or it’ll start trying to highlight an area instead.
- Sometimes it will get mixed up in what it’s reading and sound like gibberish or skip around if there is a graphic in the PDF. I have to stop it and skip ahead past the part it can’t comprehend.
- When reading with highlight so you can follow along, It’ll jump the section it’s reading to the top which will be hiding underneath the menu bar so you can’t see it. When you drag the page down so you can follow, it’ll jump back to the top again at the next sentence hiding it again. Of course when I tap the screen to try and make the menu bar go away, then that causes it to stop and then I have to try and find my spot again.
- It would be nice when looking in my folders to select a file that it would display the entire file name if you hover over it. Sometimes it’s hard to tell one from another if they’re all labeled similarly in a sequence and you can only see the first couple words at the beginning and at the end.
I hope this feedback helps and that there are improvements made in future versions. I would request a refund and go back to the free version but the freezing up thing is very frustrating. Makes one wonder if that’s on purpose so that people will upgrade to the paid version?

Overall Good But Always Opens in Files
This app is one of my favorite apps. However, it always opens in the screen where I have to choose a file from Files rather than to the normal view where I already have documents open from the previous times I’ve used the app. When it opens to Files when launching the app, I have to either find the document again from one of my file sources or open some random file just to get to already open documents. Please fix so that it opens to the last document that was opened, and if I want to open a new document, then make the user need to click on the Open Document icon.

App frozen
The app is stuck
Majority of downloads will not open. I can’t access settings. It goes to a black screen . The downloads that do open do not play.
It was working fine. I upgraded to iPhone 11 Mac Pro and it worked for a short while.

It used to work.
The app no longer works. You can take pictures or convert to a PDF. You can only view what was previously downloaded before, nothing new. 😩

Best app for you’r children with dis ability’s
Falla
Cambie mi iPhone 8 por un Xr, pero no consigo escuchar los textos que con mi anterior iPhone escuchaba, me podrían decir que puedo hacer para solucionar esta situación??
Fantastic Update
The app is more stabler than ever. Just the annoying blotchy highlighter when highlighting while speech is going. Otherwise no big deal. This app is second to none. Being a PHD student and dyslexic would have been a perfect recipe for failure. Claro on my 12.9 iPad Pro has been a God send.
Crashing issues
Not sure what’s going on but the app is crashing again
Great app and ++ Accessibility
Wonderful app for students and anyone with accessibility needs. Developers are also very responsive with support.
