New app May 2026 update makes using it so much more difficult
As the person responsible for hiring casual teachers the latest update which has the app ‘built from the ground up’ makes individual teacher availability, subject areas and types invisible and takes many steps to see what are their subjects. The calendar doesn’t show who is an SLSO or a Teacher and the pre-confirmed booking system is intolerable and not at all user friendly.
They have taken all of the appearance updates they applied to the website and removed so much functionality which is saying a lot because the previous iteration of the app could be really glitchy.
It’s also SO MUCH SLOWER!
Really wish it hadn’t forced me to update it in order to use the app.

Please focus on fixing the crashing problem.
The development team has recently become obsessed on changing the calendar colours. They’ve swapped light and dark shades, thin and wide layouts and more, all while neglecting the most frustrating issue for users which is “frequent logouts”. This happens even though users follow instructions and update both their device and the app.

How do you edit your profile?! App doesn’t give you an option??? Hopeless..
I can’t send this message either as all nick names are taken!? Class cover are sending emails on PD for Technology, try applying it yourself first!

Most disappointing and frustrating
This app continually doesn’t work properly. I get notifications so late in the day, I couldn’t possibly accept job as I would not arrive in time to start the job. I am constantly missing out on days of relief because of having to use this app. I have contacted schools to let them know of this issue. All of my work came from other schools last term because they were texting me directly. This app has proved useless to me ☹️

Update is horrible
Really dislike the new calendar and general app. Bookings have been appearing on my iPad but not my phone - so have missed out on work.

Magnificent
I have been using ClassCover since its release. It has always been accurate and reliable and they listen to feedback and offer updates and improvements. The current version is super speedy and my school sometimes wonders how I can respond so quickly!
It must also be so time saving for the school when compared to the old phone call to check availability.

This is one of those apps that you are forced to use for work, but it is slow, bug-ridden and often simply doesn't work. It is now also chock-a-block full of paid advertisements, usually for other states or development that is a downright scam. But we have no choice but to hope the classcover gods will be kind. Because the users don't get to choose another method.
Everyone has a horror story where classcover failed them, they didn't get the job, and the staff were vague at best (or even unkind) about why their app failed or how to help them. They acknowledge no mistakes at their end.
(They also just hit it with the ugly update stick yet again, so be ready for a massively ugly interface)

Great app to use and get notifications on.
Not reliable
Often crashes when I click on a notification and then I have to sign in and I miss work

Missing bookings because app keeps logging out
Handy for organising work
Would be great if school weeks were numbered and holidays greyed out. Very handy to match to my pay advice.

Not the easiest app to navigate and help desk not open when needed .

There is an issue. The app keeps signing out automatically everytime I get a casual notification to work. Please fix this.

Terrible but no alternatives
It reduces looking for professional work to a video game, the fastest teacher to answer wins a job for a day. And it puts constant advertisements for paid professional learning plans onto your alerts on your phone. What's not to hate? The only reason people use this app is because their employers force them to.
Keep in mind, Classcover advertises things like "A.I. for teachers". A.I. has been proven to lower results and cause teachers to mistakenly teach incorrect content. Classcover is a company promoting poor teaching methods.

Terrible
Terrible app. Only reason for lots of downloads is that relief teachers need to have it now. Alerts don’t always work properly, I get logged out and miss out on jobs and jobs that have been taken stay there. They are constantly advertising on their app. Their PD that they sell is of average quality. Ironically, they only publish good or excellent reviews. I tried to publish a realistic review and they didn’t accept this. Have a browse and see how many poorly reviews PD are on there!

Annoying to use and unhelpful to find work
ClassCover is difficult to use, has no function to clear jobs (that you missed or can’t take) and has so many unnecessary and unhelpful settings that it is like overkill. It sends advertisements when I login (instead of waiting for me to answer notifications when I logon), so I miss jobs as I can’t reply fast enough. Also - How can a job be gone if I am holding my phone and reply to accept the notification within the second? I get less work with ClassCover than I did before ClassCover. It’s painful!

Notification Problem
Previously this year, app notifications came first and made noise before the SMS came. Now, the SMS comes, and there is no app notification unless I physically open up the app.
I am worried as I will go overseas soon and I will miss out on bookings if this is the case. Please fix it to how it was before.
