I got this for school, but this app pushes you to paid materials way too often which leads to a negative experience.

Parents don’t have a choice in using ClassDojo; if the school chooses it, we have to install it. Pushing subscription upsells on parents who are just trying to check on their kids is manipulative.

Bombarded with upsell notifications
I check the alerts thinking it’s my child’s teacher, only to be met with upsell subscription offers or if there is an update I have click on pop ups for other features just to see the update. What a frustrating experience using this app. The pop ups don’t minimize unless you click on them

I double-checked the images, and the developer was right. The paid content is the curated photo album, while all of the individual photos are actually available in the teacher's posts.

This is a terrible upsell product that our district and child’s school is forcing on us. Someone has to be getting a kickback off this terrible app. The home view is so unhelpful, there isn’t a specific classroom for our children, the chat is mostly driven only by the teacher, we can’t communicate with some of the teachers, there is no calendar feature just a way to sync with your calendar but it is an up charge. Basic features are all up charges and splash screens and modals constantly show. It is awful.

Anytime I try to see a message, all I get is circles!!! It keeps circling around and around trying to get me to buy a tutorial or to download the app, which isn’t working or ??? You name it!

Class Dojo Communication
I love being able to Communicate with the teacher instead of sending notes and bothering them . Very very much an asset for teachers and parents.

Terrible User Experience.
It’s probably pointless to use this review since if you’re using this app, like me, you don’t have a choice or are being forced to buy your children’s school, but this is the worst app on my phone. Every time I have to use this app to do something simple it’s more complex than it has to be. The worst part of all is they constantly have “notifications” pop-up, and when you go to the app, the notification is just an offer to upgrade to their premium version. First of all, I do not want to pay for an app that I’m being forced to use to communicate my children’s well-being in the first place. Secondly, when an apps primary function is alerting me to messages about my children from their teachers while they’re at school and away from me I do not like having false notifications pop. On top of this constant pop-ups in the app wanting you to set up stupid features you will never use cover the screen keeping you from being app for its primary function
TLDR: the worst part of the school year each year isn’t getting children up in the morning, trying to get them ready to get them to school on time or deal with the typical struggles that come with having small children in school. It’s having to open ClassDojo again.
